I am happy it is someone with national political experience.
Otherwise, I still think VP picks don't matter much.

Will Trump replace Pence with Nikki Haley? I wouldn't bet against that.

I can't see Biden finishing his term. I think this means a Pub pres elected in 2024. Not because of her gender or ethicity. I'm just not impressed with her. (I know, many will say it's subconsciously b/c of bias - if so, it's gender. I'm a big Obama fan).

Good choice. Best choice of the available options.

I was for Amy, then Kamala. I am really happy with his choice. Trump has already dumped on her in several little bytes (live comments and seen on CNN) as of 6pm Eastern (MI), plus he called her the "most Liberal member of the Senate!"
The President "has no clothes." Imagine a room full of Progressives hearing Trump paste "Liberal" on her forehead. Cripes, whatta lying dolt he is!
Go USA Go Democrats & Independents Go Biden-Harris

They've been saying that anytime Democrats nominate a senator. The engine kicks in, they crank out some weird set of criteria to determine liberalness and then declare whoever the senator is (Obama, Kerry, doesn't matter) they're the most liberal ever.
I don't think "liberal" is as dirty a word as it used to be anymore. We may be finally outgrowing the Reagan years.

I almost wonder if other names were intentionally discussed/floated a lot just so the pick would come off as a surprise.

I like the choice, I think it was safe. Despite being a senator, she doesn't seem polished but she can get better if she has to run at the top of the ticket in 2024. I saw her on Colbert when she was still a candidate and was really unimpressed. She had memorized statements and used them as answers to Colbert's softballs which came across as forced and disingenuous. That being said, she will mop the floor with Pence (with or without Mother holding his hand).

She just needs to avoid big mistakes.

I would have preferred Rice as I don't think Harris is a strong enough speaker or has a forceful stage presence. I don't believe she will ever be elected president. But she does have the experience and will be a good vp. I think she will help Biden both in votes and in office.

Well, I hope that Ben and F-J get pleasantly surprised over the next 80 days and then pleased at whatever unrolls over the next four (and imho possibly eight) years. Now let's see who will be the next Senator from the Golden State because, the state will need one after January! I strongly believe it will be a Blue Wave for the country to return to a positive nation -- wave? I hope for a tsunami.

I was hoping for Susan Rice for two reasons: 1. She is best prepared to serve as President (by far); and 2. When interviewed, she comes across really well (she's extremely smart & articulate).
The Republican political operatives apparently wanted Biden to select Rice. They were eager to tag her with Benghazi. Faux News has taught their audience that Benghazi was much worse than 911 or the COVID-19 epidemic. That gave me cause for concern, because I know choosing Rice would have played into their hands, and I've seen the results of their slimy techniques.
There's also the fact that Susan Rice has not run for elected office. Perhaps she is not suited to that kind of stuff (but who knows what kind of campaign it will be? There won't be much pressing of the flesh or baby-kissing in the COVID-19 era).
So... I'm okay with Kamala Harris as the VP choice, but not ecstatic about it. Now let's get on with it...

Blindness, Here's an article reaching out to progressives regarding Harris. Public defender: I worked with Kamala Harris. She was the most progressive DA in California." There has been much talk about the time Sen. Kamala Harris spent as a prosecutor. As a public defender for 24 years, I examined, critiqued and battled Harris when she was the San Francisco district attorney. And more often than not, Harris and I were on opposite sides.
Having had this experience, I feel compelled to speak on Harris’ record while she was a district attorney. Simply put, Harris was the most progressive prosecutor in the state. This is not an anecdotal opinion. It is based on facts." Of course, the Pubs will eat this up. But maybe that plays into Biden's and Harris's hands vis-à-vis progressive Dems.
