Just a thought: what if the next president releases Trump's taxes, on the grounds that it is a national security issue?
It's easy to paint a picture of Donald Trump as a Russian agent, perhaps an unwitting one. I suspect the NSA came to that conclusion a long time ago, and they are merely riding out the storm. But what about the American public?
How would the American public react if they learn that:
- Trump was bankrupt until Vladimir Putin stepped in to force Deutsche Bank to drop their lawsuit against him, and release him from his debts?
- That Trump's real estate business survived for years by selling ridiculously over-priced properties to Russian oligarchs (otherwise known as "money-laundering")?
- That Trump routinely violated US law by investing in real estate ventures with hostile foreign interests (including Iranians when we were sanctioning them)?
How would the American public react when they are reminded that:
- Trump frequently met with Russian contacts, in secret (such as the Oval Office meeting with the Russian Ambassador, with no other American present except the interpreter)?
- That Trump secretly met with Putin on at least one occasion, and perhaps more than once?
- That on at least one occasion, Trump seized the interpreter's notes and swore them to secrecy?
- That Trump publicly, on camera and in front of the entire world, stated that he believed Vladimir Putin over ALL of the American intelligence agencies?
How would the American public react if the next president pointed out that Trump's actions as president clearly favored Russia, as exemplified by:
- Trump's repeated attempts to re-admit Russia to the G8, after they were expelled for meddling in the US elections and for murdering a man in England?
- That Trump agreed with Russia to allow the Open Skies Treaty to expire, giving Russia exactly what they wanted?
- That Trump hurriedly took American forces off the battlefield in Syria, against the recommendations of the American commanders, and giving Russia exactly what they wanted in the region?
- That Trump cancelled naval exercises in the Sea of Japan, against the recommendations of the American commanders, but exactly as Putin requested (in this case, perhaps Trump was bowing to his other buddy Kim Jong Il)?
The next American president will not be as vicious as Trump. Perhaps it would be too much for our country to survive even a level-headed pursuit of justice in this matter. But just imagine what the next president could do simply by exposing the truth about Donald Trump...
