It's the title of a new documentary available on Netflix, which advocates for a form of agriculture that is based on low or no tillage and working with nature rather than against it. It points out how much price supports for agricultural crops are costing the American taxpayer.
It highlights what is being done and shows what can be done to actually improve the nutritional content of our diets and at the same time pull carbon out of the air and into the soil (plants actually do that!).
I'm a backyard vegetable gardener. After watching this documentary I'm going to look at how I grow my crops and probably make some changes. Use more compost, don't disturb the soil so much after harvesting and maybe plant some cover crops too. And I have to remind myself that when selecting a fertilizer look for organic ingredients that will feed the soil biome, which in turn will feed my plants.
Soil is alive, dirt is dead, killed by tilling, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Fortunately dirt can be brought back to life by changing how we treat it.
This is one documentary you should watch.

Wow Sago, this movie is amazing! Great recommendation. Everyone should watch it.
Trigger warning: Tom Brady shows up for a minute.
