In spite of passing the million case milestone, there some good news for the US as a whole. If you look at the moving average for deaths, it seems to be trending down. Also, the last 4 days, the number of new cases has trended down.
My guess is that some of this is from New York where things are improving. And overall, it may indicate that our current measures are having some results. For the most part the country is still on lockdown. There are some indications this is working, but I would like to see 2 solid weeks of improvement before celebrating.

We are not developing a pretty good baseline for Georgia. In another 10 days, we will start to see how they weather the re-opening. It is a bit ironic that things have improved after they reopened, but there is no reason to connect the two.
