So we are back in central Oregon (wife is absolutely determined to buy a place here on this trip). I shot an 89 from the blues on the long course today despite double bogeys on every par 3. Not bad for someone who essentially picked up golf 3 months ago . We head back to Sammamish on Monday. This is my long winded way to. say Friday is out for me for Happy Hour. What does everyone think about a Tuesday or Wednesday HH? Otherwise I can just bump to next Friday. There is certainly a crapload of new content to discuss .

I'm good whenever.
Sounds like you're a natural at golf!

As I lost my job to retirement, so whatever works best for you. What is so appealing about central Oregon? And what geographical area does it encompass?

Fridays are a nice way to cap off the week, but in truth, any day is a good day for a HH!

The setting is spectacular with views of the eastern cascades and its volcanic peaks. Mount Bachelor is probably the best skiing on the west coast south of of Whistler (and since the Olympics, houses there start in the millions) in addition to rivers and lakes for water sports, mountain bike and hiking trails, and world class (affordable golf) and nearby Bend is large enough that it has all the stores and restaurants that we would need. It is also pretty appealing that we can get a 3BR 2BA Chalet on the golf course for ~$300K.

It was so big and beautiful, I was really surprised that I'd never heard of it. I'm on off-the-beaten-path guy, so maybe I over-rate the area. But, if you've never done the drive (I imagine you have), give it a ride on a sunny day. It was amazing to me. It could be that I'm not familiar with NW terrain. Once we got into the remote areas of Idaho, MT, Wyo, every time my wife and I got on a 2 lane road, we both were saying "I want to move here." Eastern Washington, and Oregon once we hit the Umpqua were the same.

A few years back it was an exodus destination for a few people in the area. They never came back so I guess they liked it. Shop carefully and buy wisely. Buy a couple so I can come up to visit and not feel like I was imposing.
