I am guessing McConnell has a plan to confirm her replacement within an hour all the way to the very morning of Inauguration. Isn't Trump technically president until the very moment the next president is sworn in?
Edit: The next Congress starts its session on January 3, 2021, does it not? If the GOP loses control of the Senate, then it's a different story.

His term ends at noon on January 20th.

His term ends at noon on January 20th. Right, but what I am saying is that if the GOP loses the Senate, then Ginsburg only has to hold on till January 3rd.

The Senate usually goes on recess for a couple of weeks prior to Christmas. Of course, they could always call a special session to sneak in a SC nominee.
I'm not sure if the V.P. is allowed to vote on nominees.

Trump is President until January 20, but any of his unconfirmed nominations die at noon. But we also have a new Congress starting January 3. If it's a Democratic Senate, any nomination won't even reach the floor.

As I said during Happy Hour, if I am Biden I make a deal with Mitch that threatens to pack the court for a liberal majority if that slimy weasel even attempts to nominate a replacement after the bullshit he pulled in 2016.
That being said, aside from full on riots to take over the Capitol (which I might actually join), what other methods can prevent a nomination? What McConnell did in 2016 was absolute bullshit and then he took it a step further when he removed the filibuster for nominees. This would be a step too far. I would seriously drive to DC with torch and pitchfork in hand.
