There is an expectation that we are about to face a wave of evictions next. Those how go through that because of job loss may end up being homeless, or end up finding a new place closer to the elections than the system processes them. Which brings me to a question that's been bugging me all these years: do the homeless get to vote? The polls are determined by your residence, and if you don't have an address, how do you vote?
I mean just because you do not have an address doesn't mean you lost your rights as a citizen.

That's a good question. Where do they receive their mail? Conceivably, you could give an address like "underpass, Fifth Street bridge" because that would be true. But how do you get a ballot?

Well, if we really cared about those people we would actually provide some infrastructure for their basic needs and rights. IF, that is.

Voting and HomelessnessPeople experiencing homeless or who are otherwise in transition face special challenges when registering to vote. Below we discuss some of these challenges and provide links to organizations and resources that offer further information. Remember, the best source of information about these issues is your state or county election officials. Can someone who is homeless register and vote?Yes. Persons experiencing homelessness can register and vote in all 50 states. What should this person list as his or her home address? It is recommended homeless registrants list a shelter address as their voting address where they could receive mail. Alternatively, homeless registrants may denote a street corner or a park as their residence, in lieu of a traditional home address. The federal voter registration form and many state forms provide a space for this purpose. Does the registrant have to have lived at this location for any particular length of time? Most states have some duration of residency requirements for voter registration – for example, having resided for 30 days or more before the Election Day in the state or county. Contact your local elections officials to find out what the rules are in your state. Source

Thanks mh. I hope all those folks can be made aware of this. We need to maximize the voting.

When trump gets evicted, he shouldn't be allowed to vote.
