Alabama students throwing 'COVID parties' to see who gets infectedAlabama state officials confirm that a group of college students took bets on, then intentionally spread COVID-19 and at least 8 cases are linked to a house party in a New York City suburb. Students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 have been attending parties in the city and surrounding area as part of a disturbing contest to see who can catch the virus first, a city council member told ABC News on Wednesday. Tuscaloosa City Councilor Sonya McKinstry said students have been organizing "COVID parties" as a game to intentionally infect each other with the contagion that has killed more than 127,000 people in the United States. She said she recently learned of the behavior and informed the city council of the parties occurring in the city. She said the organizers of the parties are purposely inviting guests who have COVID-19. "They put money in a pot and they try to get COVID. Whoever gets COVID first gets the pot. It makes no sense," McKinstry said. "They're intentionally doing it." Not a parody

I've said before ALL of the media has done a HORRIBLE job of stressing the risks posed to young people by the virus and to a lesser extent to the danger they pose to older people. Likely one of the big problems is that few young people listen to any news at all. They get all their life's info off of social media that is mostly propaganda. As a result many of them are simply morons. Some are just totally irresponsible.
For the first time today in the grocery I saw a mother with 3 kids from teen to adolescents ALL wearing masks. I thanked her for having her kids masked. She said I'm a nurse I know the risks. Most of the public has no clue as they are brainwashed by fake news and social media.
All of the social media platforms should take responsibility for communicating accurate facts about their risks with the virus to the younger crowd. That's about as likely as moscow mitch endorsing biden.

And New York residents instituting Omerta regarding contact tracing. "In New York City, where 3,000 disease detectives and case monitors had been hired by last month, early data showed that only about 2 in every 5 people who had tested positive for the virus or were presumed to have it shared information about close contacts with tracers. This is the second time in recent years that Rockland County officials have had to resort to subpoenas to compel cooperation from residents amid a push to halt a disease outbreak. A similar step last year in the face of a measles epidemic proved to be successful, officials said." www.yahoo.com/news/party-guests-wont-talk-9-121901370.html
