When I was at UCLA one of the local public radio stations carried a show called the Studs Terkel Almanac, which was a condensed version of his weekly radio show. I really enjoyed it back then. It was one of my "appointment listening" radio shows. There is an online archive of Terkel's interviews. studsterkel.wfmt.com/explore I'm going to dive in and see if I enjoy them now, as much as I did then. Blindness and DSC, I recommend checking this out, particularly to you guys. Terkel is a populist lefty with an open, affable interview style. Imo, it would give you a great sense of the vibe in the U.S. in the 60's and 70's (for interviews from those time periods). studsterkel.wfmt.com/explore

My current throwback to the 60's is watching The Prisoner, the wierd spy / sci-fi show. It is still interesting, and on Amazon Prime. Here's a show ripe for a remake.

I've seen a few episodes of it. I liked it. I think I'd like it better if I was stoned, but it was still enjoyable. I'll check it out on Prime.
A couple of years ago, I went to watch small release movie - this was the one LA screening of the movie. Before the main attraction, they showed a couple of arty movies. One of them, I would bet the house that the guy that made it was a huge Prisoner fan. The vibe and the visuals were super similar, even with a low tech feel (probably to their low budget). After the movie I went to talk about The Prisoner with the cinematographer. He'd never heard of it. He said "you're the second person on this tour who has asked me about the Prisoner. I've never heard of it. I'll have to look it up." The guy was an early 30's German guy, so it's unlikely that he picked it up in the ether. Anyway, the similarities were super strong.
Edit: I found the "teaser" for it on Vimeo. (I guess that's like a trailer).
Peace.
