I've said this many times. It's been "One Justice Away" to overturn Roe v. Wade since the 80's. Then after Thomas replaced liberal icon Marshall, Souter became the swing vote and got in the way. And then O'Conner became the swinger. And then Kennedy. And now Roberts.
The abortion carrot continues to dangle to engage the Religious Right voters in politics. I know a lot of people whose sole reason for voting for Trump was abortion. With Roe v. Wade intact, the court has empowered corporate America like never before. There are more workers' rights to erode and more regulations to eliminate. The GOP still needs these voters to stay in the game.
