I was looking for a place to pick up some chow and decided on a new place close to my house that I had never tried. Called the Mediterranean Chickpea, it got great reviews with a lot of comments on the freshness. So I went there and there was a single middle aged lady behind the counter, told her I didn't know what I wanted and was looking for suggestions. She then started feeding me spoonfuls of different dishes, they all tasted great to me and I finally wound up with a container of baba ghanoush and another of tabbouleh made with quinoa. Alsio picked up a round loaf of flat bread. Brought it home and heated up the bread, dipped the baba with the salad on the side. Over the top delicious but, surprisingly, the bread was the big winner, wonderful taste with almost a little bit of sweetness in it.
The lady told me she was from Lebanon and her mother and grandmother had taught her all the dishes she offered. All in all, a great choice. I'll be back.

Oh man ... that sounds absolutely awesome. If they have some shepherd's salad, check that out too (that's what we call it: a salad with no lettuce, just tomatoes, cucumbers, some pepper, onion, parsley, lemon juice, olive oil). It's especially great in hot weather.
The Lebanese make mean kebab too.
Love the baba. I did not really like eggplants growing up but now, they're pretty much my jam.
