This article is a good summary of what we know so far. Those who"recover" could face permanent lung damage, heart damages, cognitive effects, and even male sterility. There is even a possibility that people who don't show symptoms could have lung damage, if i read this right. It is still uncetain, but there is some more evidence.So mortality rates don't tell the whole story.

It makes wearing a mask and observing the other precautions more imperative. Al Jolson said “you ain't seen nothing yet” and the same could be true for COVID-19.
