This is a measure of continuity from last season. By looking at three different measures, we get a sense of not only how much the returning players were on the court, but also how produductive they were.
UCLA leads in every category. This is a bit surprising, considering the Bruins are adding 8 new players to the roster. Other than Bona, the six players leaving weren't very productive.
How important is continuity? Returning a lot from a good team is obviously better than returning everyone from a bad team. However, it is no guarantee of success. You have to look no further back than last season's FAU team.
On the other side, teams with almost no continuity made the NCAA tournament with the right transfers. Last season we had Utah State and Washington State.
Nonethelss, it is usually better to bring back veterans than to start over.
