Church Bulletin Bloopers The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon. The Name is Bond. No Bond.Former President Donald Trump has not been able to get a bond to secure the $464 million fraud judgment against him, his lawyers said in a court filing Monday. Trump and his company need to post a bond for the full amount by next week in order to stop New York Attorney General Letitia James from being able to collect while he appeals. They've asked an appeals court to step in in the meantime and said Monday that they have not had any success getting a bond. "Defendants’ ongoing diligent efforts have proven that a bond in the judgment’s full amount is 'a practical impossibility,'" the filing said. "These diligent efforts have included approaching about 30 surety companies through 4 separate brokers." Old, Dumb. and Broke

It Sounds Like a Pretty Ordinary Previous Guy Speech to Me
Trump Says Some Migrants Are ‘Not People’ and Predicts a ‘Blood Bath’ if He Loses
In a caustic and discursive speech in Ohio, former President Donald J. Trump once again doubled down on a doomsday vision of the United States.
With his general-election matchup against President Biden in clear view, Mr. Trump once more doubled down on the doomsday vision of the country that has animated his third presidential campaign and energized his base during the Republican primary.
The dark view resurfaced throughout his speech. While discussing the U.S. economy and its auto industry, Mr. Trump promised to place tariffs on cars manufactured abroad if he won in November. He added: “Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a blood bath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a blood bath for the country.”

It's Best Without Asbestos
The Environmental Protection Agency on Monday announced a comprehensive ban on asbestos, a carcinogen that is still used in some chlorine bleach, brake pads and other products and that kills thousands of Americans every year.
The final rule marks a major expansion of EPA regulation under a landmark 2016 law that overhauled regulations governing tens of thousands of toxic chemicals in everyday products, from household cleaners to clothing and furniture.
The new rule would ban chrysotile asbestos, the only ongoing use of asbestos in the United States. The substance is found in products such brake linings and gaskets and is used to manufacture chlorine bleach and sodium hydroxide, also known as caustic soda.
EPA Administrator Michael Regan called the final rule a major step to protect public health.
“With today’s ban, EPA is finally slamming the door on a chemical so dangerous that has been banned in over 50 countries,″ Regan said. ”This historic ban is more than 30 years in the making, and it’s thanks to amendments that Congress made in 2016 to fix the Toxic Substance Control Act,″ the main U.S. law governing use of chemicals.

Good News, Bad News
Seventy per cent of American voters, and 48% of Republicans, reject Donald Trump’s claim to be immune from criminal prosecution for acts committed in office, a new poll said.
In the poll from Ipsos and Politico Magazine, just 11% backed the former president and presumptive Republican nominee’s claim, as expressed in his federal election subversion case that has reached the supreme court.
“The result is a positive sign for the constitutional sensibilities of the American public,” the Politico columnist and former federal prosecutor Ankush Khardori wrote, pointing to a view widely held among law professors when he called “Trump’s argument for immunity … absurd as a matter of law, history and democratic logic.”
But the poll also produced what Khardori called a “sobering” poll result: nearly half of respondents (46%) did not trust the supreme court to issue “a fair and nonpartisan ruling” in the immunity case.

And the Cost to Operate Them is Much Lower
The price of electric cars is plummeting so fast that they’re now almost as cheap as gas-powered cars.
Since EVs first hit the market, car buyers have had to pay a steep premium if they wanted a car that ran on batteries instead of a gas engine. Two years ago, they would have paid about $17,000 more on average for a new electric car than for a new gas-powered car. But that gap has been rapidly closing, shrinking to $5,000 last month, according to data from Cox Automotive.
That’s an 11 percent markup over the average new car price last month — roughly similar to the price difference between picking the base model of some cars vs. the performance model that comes with all the bells and whistles.
Tesla is setting electric vehicle prices so low, they’re almost even with gas-powered cars.
Of course, part of the reason EV prices are plunging is that consumers are not buying them as fast as dealers and automakers expected. As the industry moves beyond enthusiastic early adopters, it now faces car buyers who are concerned about charging infrastructure and high upfront costs.
So car dealerships are discounting electric cars on their lots. Average EV prices dropped $2,000 last month. “We’re going to continue to see price cuts or discounts just because there’s inventory and [dealers are] really trying to get these sold,” said Stephanie Valdez Streaty, director of Industry Insights at Cox Automotive.
That’s good news for Americans in the market for a new car who might be considering going electric. “Price is always one of the top barriers for adoption, so I think getting down to price parity is key,” she said.

There May Be No Such Thing as a Free Lunch, But How About Free Electircity During Lunch Hour?
For about five hours on Feb. 25, electricity for most of Texas cost nothing.
As the sun shone on a banner day of near-perfect sunny, mild and breezy weather across the state, wind and solar produced electricity at an unprecedented rate.
At its peak, renewable energy produced nearly three-quarters of Texas electricity that day — setting a record that pushed the real-time price of energy to $0 for five hours as nuclear and fossil fuel plants offered lower and lower prices to stay competitive and keep from making the costlier decision to shut their operations down.
It was a record driven partly by a four-year build-up that saw solar energy’s capacity increase eightfold in the past five years.
Late last year, Texas topped California to become the No. 1 state for utility-scale solar energy, marking a second renewable energy boom in Texas following the recent rise of wind energy. More than anywhere else in the country, Texas has capitalized on renewable energy in the past decade.
“It’s an exciting time,” said Judd Messer, vice president of the renewable energy group Advanced Power Alliance. “We’re going to break solar records, it seems, several times a month from here on out.”

Chubb covered his E. Jean Carrol Bond. This is the money he owe New York for his fraud about valuing his assets. Of course, if his assets were worth what he really said they were worth, he would be able to borrow the money easily.
