Here's to You Mr. RobinsonWhat Does the NYT Thing About the Man Who Quotes Hitler? They Think He is Just Dandy.‘Cowardly’: N.Y. Times pummeled for ignoring N.C. GOP nominee’s Hitler, Holocaust remarks Mark Robinson is a "political firebrand" and a "fiery outsider eager to dive into the culture war," according to a New York Times profile published just hours after the Republican North Carolina Lt. Governor won the GOP nomination to become the Tar Heel State's next governor. The Times neglects to mention Robinson's remarks on Hitler and the Holocaust, creating even more outrage online for the paper of record. "Mr. Robinson, 55, is now poised to face his Democratic opponent, Attorney General Josh Stein of North Carolina, in the general election in November. Both men would break ground if elected: Mr. Robinson would be the first Black governor, while Mr. Stein, 57, would be the first Jewish governor," The Times' Eduardo Medina reported in his profile serving up "five things to know about Mr. Robinson." They are, according to The Times: "His political career was fueled by online support," "He made history as the first Black lieutenant governor of North Carolina," "His upbringing was difficult," "His wife had an abortion decades ago, and it has shaped his views on the issue," and, at the bottom of the list, "He has long held anti-L.G.B.T.Q. views." But as many on social media rushed to note, there are more than five important things to know about the Trump-endorsed Mark Robinson. NCRM and others, especially Right Wing Watch, have reported on Lt. Governor Robinson's political positions and remarks, remarks The Times glosses over but acknowledges as "incendiary comments on social issues, which have mobilized his Trump-aligned base and repulsed Democrats." Right Wing Watch, which has extensively chronicled Robinson's career, reported on his campaign launch for governor last April, calling him "an unabashed Christian nationalist and virulent anti-LGBTQ bigot." They add, "in 2021, Robinson asserted that 'this will always be a Christian nation' and told those who disagree, 'If you don’t like it, I’ll buy your plane, train, or automobile ticket right up out of here.'" And while The Times notes Robinson "told a congregation that 'there’s no reason anybody anywhere in America should be telling any child about transgenderism, homosexuality, any of that filth,'" it ignored the vast majority of his hate-filled anti-LGBTQ comments and his remarks regarding Hitler and the Holocaust. The Times Isn't On Your SideThere is something wrong at the New York Times

Tennessee Wants More Sick Kids
Gayle Borne has fostered more than 300 children in Springfield, Tennessee. She’s cared for kids who have rarely seen a doctor — kids so neglected that they cannot speak. Such children are now even more vulnerable because of a law Tennessee passed last year that requires the direct consent of birth parents or legal guardians for every routine childhood vaccination. Foster parents, social workers, and other caregivers cannot provide permission.
In January, Borne took a foster baby, born extremely premature at just over 2 pounds, to her first doctor’s appointment. The health providers said that without the consent of the child’s mother, they couldn’t vaccinate her against diseases like pneumonia, hepatitis B, and polio. The mother hasn’t been located, so a social worker is now seeking a court order to permit immunizations. “We are just waiting,” Borne said. “Our hands are tied.”
Tennessee’s law has also stymied grandmothers and other caregivers who accompany children to routine appointments when parents are at work, in drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinics, or otherwise unavailable. The law claims to “give parents back the right to make medical decisions for their children.”

Is Musk Shopping Again? Maybe He Wants to Own a President. On Saturday, watchers of private-jet traffic noticed that Elon Musk’s plane was on the ground at the airport closest to Mar-a-Lago, leading to speculation that the CEO of Tesla might be on hand to meet with the guy who has spent years claiming electric vehicles are a Chinese hoax and that electric cars need to charge every 15 minutes. On Tuesday evening, The New York Times confirmed that Donald Trump and Elon Musk met on Sunday in West Palm Beach as Trump desperately looks for a way to cover the $540 million he owes for a pair of recent legal judgments. Whether Musk has agreed to pick up the tab for Trump’s fines is unclear, but that he could do so for only about 1.2% of the check he wrote for Twitter shows the huge difference in wealth between the two men. What Could Previous Guy Do For Him?
Tesla has faced repeated issues with safety at its factories, with rates of violations that dwarf other auto manufacturers. Tesla’s “self-driving” cars, which Musk has relentlessly promoted for a decade, are part of a growing investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that could result in a major recall and restrictions on Tesla’s system. Tesla has been repeatedly sued over racial discrimination, including by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, overrunning an openly hostile and racist workplace. Tesla has been targeted by the United Auto Workers, with the union’s president, Shawn Fain, pushing hard to organize workers there and at other nonunion automakers. Elon Musk flies to Mar-a-Lago as Trump seeks cash for those pesky court fees

He Knows All the Best Sex Offenders
Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. this week offered up a wild defense of his association with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein that probably didn’t help his campaign.
Kennedy has previously said he had been on Epstein’s private plane twice.
In an interview on the Flagrant podcast released on Wednesday, he admitted that Epstein was hardly the only notorious character he hung out with.
“I’m in New York for most of my life. You run into everybody in New York,” Kennedy said. “I mean, I knew Harvey Weinstein. I knew Roger Ailes. I knew, O.J. Simpson came to my house. Bill Cosby came to my house.”

How About Telling a Room Full of Women Voters You Don't Think They Should Be Allowed to Vote?
On Tuesday, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson won the GOP primary to become his party’s nominee for North Carolina governor, presumably with the help of female voters.
But just four years ago, Robinson invoked a bizarre hypothetical in which he said he’d “absolutely” like to return to the days when the 19th Amendment didn’t exist ― when women didn’t have the right to vote.
“I absolutely want to go back to the America where women couldn’t vote,” Robinson said in a newly resurfaced video of his remarks at a March 2020 event hosted by the Republican Women of Pitt County.
RFK Jr Must Be Taking Tone-Deaf Lessons From Mr. Robinson.

The New China SyndromeIn the late 1990s and early 2000s, the U.S. and the global economy experienced a “China shock,” a boom in imports of cheap Chinese-made goods that helped keep inflation low but at the cost of local manufacturing jobs. A sequel might be in the making as Beijing doubles down on exports to revive the country’s growth. Its factories are churning out more cars, machinery and consumer electronics than its domestic economy can absorb. Propped up by cheap, state-directed loans, Chinese companies are glutting foreign markets with products they can’t sell at home. Some economists see this China shock pushing inflation down even more than the first. China’s economy is now slowing, whereas, in the previous era, it was booming. As a result, the disinflationary effect of cheap Chinese-manufactured goods won’t be offset by Chinese demand for iron ore, coal and other commodities. China is also a much larger economy than it was, accounting for more of the world’s manufacturing. It had 31% of global manufacturing output in 2022, and 14% of all goods exports, according to World Bank data. Two decades earlier China’s share of manufacturing was less than 10% and of exports less than 5%. In the early 2000s, overproduction mainly came from China, while factories elsewhere shut down. Now, the U.S. and other countries are investing heavily in and protecting their own industries as geopolitical tensions rise. Chinese firms such as the battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology are building plants overseas to soothe opposition to imports, though they already produce much of what the world needs at home. The result could be a world swimming in manufactured goods, and short of the spending power to buy them—a classic recipe for falling prices. The World Is in for Another China Shock

DRACO is Not a Bond VillainDouble-stranded RNA activated caspase oligomerizer (DRACO) offered the promise of being broadly and rapidly effective for ending infection by many different viruses, and doing so with little adaptation of the core technology from virus to virus, a big improvement over the present state of the art. Initial results in animal studies looked good. The initial promise of DRACO was "kryptonite for viruses" - one miracle therapy that could wipe out all viral infection. "Based on our research over the past three years, we don't think that's probable. What is possible, and very much within our reach, is a family of broad-spectrum antivirals, each one capable of treating a group of viruses. For example, our lead candidate works against Dengue and Zika virus, both members of the Flavivirus family, and we expectthat we'll see results against some other flaviviruses as well." This drug could be a game-changer for the human race

How could he possibly win an election if every woman in NC is against him? Are there really women in NC who don't want the right to vote?

How could he possibly win an election if every woman in NC is against him? Are there really women in NC who don't want the right to vote? There were a lot of women who opposed the 19th Amendment. Hopefully they have learned a lot since 1920. And a lot of women support a known sex offender to be President.

Hard to believe even in 1920. I really doubt it was a lot but some I'm sure. I don't believe any women in 2024 want all women to lose the right to vote. Well maybe a few in cults that are brainwashed to only cook, have sex, and raise kids. That statement should have ended his career in 2020.
Yeah, some women expect or excuse powerful men from having dalliances.
