Kansas AG Teaches School Districts About Bullying, By Trying to Bully Them
Kansas' attorney general is telling public schools they're required to tell parents their children are transgender or non-binary even if they're not out at home, though Kansas is not among the states with a law that explicitly says to do that.
Republican Kris Kobach’s action was his latest move to restrict transgender rights, following his successful efforts last year to temporarily block Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly’s administration from changing the listings for sex on transgender people’s birth certificates and driver’s licenses to reflect their gender identities. It’s also part of a trend of GOP attorneys general asserting their authority in culture war issues without a specific state law.
The Kansas attorney general's letters to superintendents of three Kansas City-area districts, Topeka's superintendent and the Kansas Association of School Boards accused them of having “surrendered to woke gender ideology.” His letters didn't say what he would do if they didn't specifically require teachers and administrators to out transgender and non-binary students.

An Election to Watch
Aspecial election in the suburbs of New York to replace disgraced former Rep. George Santos could offer clues about the mindset of suburban voters everywhere as 2024 election contests ramp up across the country.
The Tuesday contest for the House seat held by Santos until his recent expulsion is shaping up to be a bellwether in the fight for control of Congress, as candidates test political messages their parties hope will appeal to suburban voters in the fall. It not only could subtract one more vote from Republicans' narrow majority in the short run but will be monitored carefully for any signals it sends about what suburban voters elsewhere may be thinking entering the highly volatile 2024 election year.
The Long Island race pits former U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi, a Democrat who represented the district for three terms before quitting to run for governor, against Republican nominee Mazi Pilip, a county legislator.

Guess What is Not Included in This Story.Map Shows Where New 'Hazardous' Storm Will Hit California Next WeekMeteorologists at the National Weather Service (NWS) Climate Prediction Center are tracking another storm that could potentially bring "hazardous" precipitation to California at the end of next week. The threat of another moisture-laden storm comes after two back-to-back atmospheric rivers battered the Golden State over the last week. The first of the two storms arrived last Thursday. Meteorologists were more concerned about the second atmospheric river, which arrived on Sunday and wreaked havoc with severe rain, snow and high winds. There is No Map and No Link to a Map

The QOP Has No Brains, No Heart, and No Courage. Plenty of Nominees for Wicked Witches.MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski explained why Donald Trump is the “Wizard of Oz” and his GOP allies are his “MAGA munchkins” in the latest episode of her online “Morning Mika” show that was released Friday. Trump is “the Wizard of MAGA Oz” because he’s “still calling the shots in Congress” and “pushing the GOP to do literally anything no matter how demeaning or destructive,” said Brzezinski. The wizard “certainly has a strong hold over his munchkins,” she continued, noting, however, that the curtain may be about to be pulled back on him after a federal appeals court ruled this week against his claim to absolute immunity for potential criminal acts he committed when president. Brezenski asked if the Republican “scarecrows in Congress” will ever find their brains, or their hearts or their courage when it comes to seeing the four-times-indicted Trump for what he is. The analysis struck a chord with fellow MSNBC host Jen Psaki, the former Biden White House press secretary. Psaki hailed it as “the perfect analogy” that Trump is “like the Wizard who pretends he has all the powers but doesn’t.” Please post this on the BZOF. It's a perfect analogy.

Wouldn't I have to go on that cesspool to do it? Ok, I guess I won't get contaminated.
