She Opposes Cannbalism, But Feasts on Fake Videos
Rep. Heather Scott introduced a bill this Thursday to expand the state's cannibalism ban and said that she fears cannibalism is on the rise due to an increase in human composting.
“This is going to be normalized at some point, the way our society’s going and the direction we’re going,” Scott said.
The bill would ban someone giving another person “the flesh or blood of a human being” without that person’s “knowledge or consent.”

Some states have legalized human composting as a way to practice more "sustainable" ways than burial and reduce a person's carbon footprint.
“I didn’t want to see that in my Home Depot stores,” Scott said before claiming that she watched a clip from a television show where a chef fed human sausage to contestants -- which inspired her to sponsor the bill. According to the Idaho Statesman, the clip is from a prank TV show where they pretended to serve people human flesh.
"Scott also sent a link to a video featuring a Chinese official denying that his country had sold canned human flesh to people in Zambia. The story was a hoax, spread with fake photos of butchery, according to news reports from 2016," the East Idaho News' report stated.

Is It Willful Retention or a Shortage of Evidence?Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," State Attorney for Palm Beach County Dave Aronberg dumped all over the special counsel Robert Hur for his report on President Joe Biden retaining government documents and questioned whether Hur is even aware he contradicted himself in his conclusions. Speaking with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the Florida prosecutor bluntly called the report "sloppy." "Joe, when I thought that this was such a political gift to candidate Donald Trump that he may have to list it as an in-kind campaign contribution," he joked. "Robert Hur's appointment as special counsel is another example of [Attorney General] Merrick Garland's determination to appear apolitical. That's why he kept on a Republican Trump appointed U.S.. attorney in David Weiss to investigate Hunter Biden. That's why he appointed a Republican Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney in Robert Hur to investigate President Biden." ALSO READ: There is no justice in America 'Merrick Garland didn't have to put all this extraneous stuff out there," Aronberg exclaimed. "How different is this than [Trump Attorney General] Bill Barr who refused to show the public the Mueller report and then issued that three-page memo that misled the public?" "This investigation should have been relatively easy; there was full cooperation. The only reason they found out about the documents is Joe Biden told them about it — it's a sloppy report!' he exclaimed. "Summary on page one says that there was willful retention and disclosure, but then on page 215 it says there's a shortage of evidence on these points: which is it?" he ranted. "The question to me is why did he do this? I think the reason is he was motivated to avoid David Weiss's fate. David Eeiss is hated by his own party. I think that's why Robert Hur did this. It's Comey 2.0." 'A sloppy report': Prosecutor singles out contradictions in Hur's Biden findingsA Proud Graduate of Trump UniversityKicking off Friday morning's "Morning Joe," co-host Mika Brzezinski didn't even get a chance to finish describing the report from special counsel Robert Hur before Joe Scarborough cut her off and dropped the hammer on the Donald Trump-appointed former U.S. attorney. With Brzezinski pointing to Hur suggesting that President Joe Biden is "a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory" who would not hold up on the witness stand if he was prosecuted over government documents, a fuming Scarborough jumped in. "A neurologist and a lawyer," the MSNBC sarcastically interjected to which Brzezinski replied, "Let me finish, but I agree." "You kind of need to stop there," Scarborough continued by adding, "A neurologist from Trump University. I've got to stop right here, I know we want to go on and finish this report." "So bizarre, so many people that immediately heard these random conclusions, irrelevant conclusions, politically charged, Trump-like ramblings," he added.

This Juice Won't Come From Oranges. This Dope is Not An Ex-President.
Ex-world champion James Magnussen says he will take banned drugs in an attempt to swim faster than a world record.
The Australian, 32, will come out of retirement to compete in the Enhanced Games, where doping is allowed.
Magnussen will try to swim faster than the 50m freestyle record, though it would not be official because there would be no drug-testing regime.
"I'll juice to the gills and I'll break it in six months," said Magnussen, who will be paid $1m (£792,000).
The men's 50m freestyle world record of 20.91 seconds was set by Brazilian Cesar Cielo in 2009, though he was wearing a performance-enhancing, non-textile swimsuit that was banned a few months later.
The Enhanced Games was founded by Australian businessman Aron D'Souza in 2023 and would not be subject to World Anti-Doping Agency rules.
It is planned to include athletics, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics and combat sports, though no date or venue for the event has yet been set.

Get the Truck Out of Here A married couple who fled Haiti for Virginia achieved their American dream when they opened a variety market on the Eastern Shore, selling hard-to-find spices, sodas and rice to the region's growing Haitian community. When they added a Haitian food truck, people drove from an hour away for freshly cooked oxtail, fried plantains and marinated pork. But Clemene Bastien and Theslet Benoir are now suing the town of Parksley, alleging that it forced their food truck to close. The couple also say a town council member cut the mobile kitchen’s water line and screamed, “Go back to your own country!” “When we first opened, there were a lot of people" ordering food, Bastien said, speaking through an interpreter. “And the day after, there were a lot of people. And then ... they started harassing us.” A federal lawsuit claims the town passed a food truck ban that targeted the couple, then threatened them with fines and imprisonment when they raised concerns. They're being represented by the Institute for Justice, a law firm that described a “string of abuses” in the historic railroad town of about 800 people. share more The Associated Press - Business News The Associated Press - Business News 5.3K Followers They opened a Haitian food truck. This Has the Neighborhood Hopping Mad
In a list of things you wouldn't expect to see hopping around a Florida apartment complex, a kangaroo would come pretty near the top.
Yet that's what one astonished resident in Tampa found early Thursday morning, according to aerial night vision footage showing the creature making its way around a pool area.
Police also released the audio of the unlikely emergency call.
"911, do you need police, fire or medical?" the dispatcher asks. The caller replies: "I guess police, because there's a kangaroo in my apartment complex."
"It's kind of a large kangaroo — we've got it closed into the pool gated area," the dispatcher is heard to say on the call, updating other emergency responders on the case.
"Earlier this morning, our deputies responded to a call in Tampa for a loose kangaroo where they were able to trap in an apartment complex’s pool area," Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook.
The sheriff's office added that its agriculture unit reunited the kangaroo with its owner after its proper registration was established and verified.
The sheriff's office didn't say how the kangaroo got free, but it is legal to keep them as pets in Florida with the right permit. The Tampa Bay Times reported that its name, appropriately, is Hopper.
Kangaroos, marsupials native to Australia, can grow to almost 6 feet in height and weigh nearly 200 pounds.

Republicans Support An Election Bill That Doesn't Make it Harder to Vote. Amazing!!
Arizona lawmakers dodged a possible electoral nightmare this week, with members from both parties coming together to overwhelmingly approve a legislative tweak to the battleground state’s election policies ahead of the 2024 presidential contest.
State election officials warned last year that in a close race, Arizona's new automatic recount rules could have left them double-checking ballots well past the deadline for sending their presidential electors to Washington, D.C. Such extended counting could have prevented Arizona’s Electoral College votes from being counted in the presidential election.
The bill moves the state’s primary to July 30th from August 6th, and changes other policies to ensure that election workers have enough time to count ballots and that military and overseas voters receive their ballots in a timely fashion. The bill also enshrines signature verification policies into state law, a provision Republicans sought in negotiations over the bill.
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, applauded the legislation that now heads to her desk for a signature. “While this legislation isn’t perfect, it’s the result of hard-fought compromises from everyone involved. Arizonans can rest assured that their voices will be heard and that our elections will run free of political interference,” she said in a statement.
The bill received broad support from state legislators. Just four Republicans cast no votes, with all other voting members in both parties backing the bill in both chambers.

Guiness Changes Their Minds. Kind of Like SCOTUS and Abortion. The last 24 hours have been an emotional roller coaster for Eiffel Tower model maker Richard Plaud. Eight years of hard grind culminated in a 23ft-tall masterpiece that was painstakingly put together with matchsticks. It stands two feet higher than the previous record for the tallest matchstick replica of the French landmark held by Lebanese craftsman Toufic Daher since 2009. Council worker Richard spent 4,200 hours – that’s 175 whole days – piecing together his sculpture of the iconic Parisian structure and used an astonishing 706,900 sticks. However, the 47-year-old’s dreams of etching his name into the history books (Huh??) were shattered when the Guinness World Records rejected his bid on a technicality yesterday. ‘Tell me how 706,900 sticks stuck one by one are not matches,’ he raged on social media. ‘My matchstick tower still stands and will be 7.19 metres for a long time.’ Don't Expect to See His Name in a Lot of History Books.

Punish the Criminal and the Victim
Missouri state Senate Republicans took time away from their filibustering of one another to vote down two Democratic-led amendments to the state’s draconian abortion laws that would have allowed exceptions for rape and incest on Wednesday. In 2022, the Republican-led Missouri legislature passed strict laws banning abortion. The only exceptions at this point are to save the pregnant person's life or protect the pregnant person’s physical health.
Democratic state Sen. Tracy McCreery, who does not support the ban, argued that the least lawmakers could do for victims of rape and incest was give them the choice. “Their privacy was violated. And now we’re saying that the government is going to force them to give birth to a child.” She asked Republicans to “show an ounce of compassion.” Clearly, they could not. Republican Sen. Rick Brattin described abortion as being the same as slavery. The anti-abortion Republican argued, “If you want to go after the rapist, let’s give him the death penalty. Absolutely, let’s do it.”

Senate votes to advance Ukraine-Israel package after border deal fails
GOP senators have been deeply divided on how to proceed on the foreign aid package, with some critics arguing that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) led them into a political box canyon where Democrats have claimed the political edge on border security after they voted down the border deal they initially demanded. A vocal faction of McConnell critics have grown louder over the past week, with a handful even calling for his ouster, as Senate Republicans have gathered in meeting after meeting and argued about the uncomfortable political situation they find themselves in.
“The Republicans wanted something and then decided that they didn’t want that thing," said Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), referring to border security provisions. “Now, some of them want it again, and I think the adults are just moving on.”
But ultimately McConnell was joined by 17 fellow Republicans to advance the deal...

A Brief History Of Republicans Walking Away From Bipartisan Immigration DealsA bipartisan compromise on immigration reform fell apart this week in the Senate as Republicans heeded former President Donald Trump’s advice to kill it. The deal’s demise showed Trump’s power over Republicans, but it also continued a long-running pattern in immigration politics where a group of Republicans and Democrats strike a compromise, and then the GOP bails. Lawmakers reached bipartisan agreements on immigration in 2006, 2013 and 2018, pairing pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants ― the thing Democrats wanted ― with border security for Republicans. Each time, Republicans walked away decrying “amnesty” for people who had entered the country illegally. This time, the deal changed. Republicans would get tougher border security, including provisions Democrats had criticized during the Trump administration as unacceptable, without agreeing to a pathway to citizenship. Instead, they would agree to a package of military aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Again, Republicans negotiated the deal ― and then sprinted away from it.

She Faltered
An Oklahoma judge who sent more than 500 texts to her bailiff during a murder trial will resign, according to a court filing.
In a proposed settlement agreement filed Thursday with the Oklahoma Court on the Judiciary, District Judge Traci Soderstrom agreed to resign on Friday and never again seek a judicial office in Oklahoma.
If accepted, the settlement would stop a trial scheduled to start Monday on a request to remove Soderstrom from the bench for reasons that include gross neglect of duty, oppression in office, lack of proper temperament and failure to supervise her office.
Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice John Kane IV recommended Soderstrom be removed following an investigation that found she mocked prosecutors, laughed at the bailiff’s comment about a prosecutor’s genitals, praised the defense attorney and called the prosecutor’s key witness a liar during the murder trial of Khristian Tyler Martzall.
Soderstrom, who was elected in November 2022 and took office on Jan. 9, 2023, voluntarily suspended herself in October.
Soderstrom’s resignation letter, given to local media, said she hoped to restore faith in the judicial system.
“I promised to uphold the Constitution in a fair, even-handed and efficient manner,” Soderstrom said. “I believe that I have done so. However, being human, I have also faltered.”

The QOP Has No Brains, No Heart, and No Courage. Plenty of Nominees for Wicked Witches.
MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski explained why Donald Trump is the “Wizard of Oz” and his GOP allies are his “MAGA munchkins” in the latest episode of her online “Morning Mika” show that was released Friday.
Trump is “the Wizard of MAGA Oz” because he’s “still calling the shots in Congress” and “pushing the GOP to do literally anything no matter how demeaning or destructive,” said Brzezinski.
The wizard “certainly has a strong hold over his munchkins,” she continued, noting, however, that the curtain may be about to be pulled back on him after a federal appeals court ruled this week against his claim to absolute immunity for potential criminal acts he committed when president.
Brezenski asked if the Republican “scarecrows in Congress” will ever find their brains, or their hearts or their courage when it comes to seeing the four-times-indicted Trump for what he is.
The analysis struck a chord with fellow MSNBC host Jen Psaki, the former Biden White House press secretary. Psaki hailed it as “the perfect analogy” that Trump is “like the Wizard who pretends he has all the powers but doesn’t.”
