I’ve been listening to a lot of national anthems. I love country music. No Wall Is Keeping This OutThis year, El Niño conditions developed earlier in the summer than previous ones have, Carpenter said. “Typically, El Niño develops later in the fall into the winter,” she said. “This one was well in place here as we head into our winter.” The probability of El Niño lasting through winter is 100%, Carpenter said. The conditions are anticipated to last through spring, with a 62% chance conditions will last through April to June 2024. As it stands now, the probability of a strong El Niño in California is 75% to 85%, she said, with an over 35% probability of a “historically strong” El Niño that rivals 1997-1998 and 2015-2016. El Nino update for California: Meteorologists say this one could be ‘historically strong’

Haters Gonna' Hate and Accuse Others of Hating
After Vice President Kamala Harris posted a Thanksgiving photo of herself and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff in their kitchen, conservatives blasted Harris for her supposed hypocrisy given that she posed next to what appears to be a gas stove.
The uproar over gas stoves stems from a Department of Energy (DOE) analysis from earlier this year that found roughly 50% of gas stoves currently on the market wouldn't pass new efficiency standards. This led opponents of the Biden administration to accuse the president of wanting to ban gas stoves (such a ban has never been proposed). The DOE specified that the rule meant gas stove manufacturers would have to raise the standards of what they put on the market, not that gas stoves would be banned altogether.
However, this didn't stop Fox News contributor Charlie Hurt from launching a tirade against Harris and Democrats as a whole. the Daily Beast reported that when "Ingraham Angle" guest host Lisa Boothe asked hurt why he thinks some Democrats want to ban gas stoves, Hurt didn't hold back.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
"I think because they hate us. They hate humans. They hate joyfulness. They hate pies. They hate good food,” Hurt said. “They want all of America to be as miserable and unhappy and unloved as they are."

Gaza-Palooza
Hamas delays release of hostages until Israel lets aid into northern Gaza on the second day of four-day truce between Hamas and Israel.
Displaced Palestinians used short pause in fighting to return to their homes, only to find utter destruction.
Thirty-nine Palestinians and 13 Israelis were welcomed home on Friday after release from Israeli prisons and captivity in Gaza, respectively. Ten Thais and one Filipino were also freed from Gaza.
More than 14,800 Palestinians, including 6,150 children, have been killed in Gaza since October 7. In Israel, the official death toll from Hamas’s attack stands at 1,200.

Make Them Consider the Alternative
How Biden Might Recover
The former president just revealed his plan to win a second term.
While the [press] release focused mostly on portraying former President Donald Trump as a threat to legal abortion, the most telling passage came when the Biden campaign urged the political press corps “to meet the moment and responsibly inform the electorate of what their lives might look like if the leading GOP candidate for president is allowed back in the White House.”
That sentence probably says as much as any internal strategy memo about how Biden’s team plans to win a second term, especially if the president faces a rematch with Trump. With that exhortation the campaign made clear that it wants Americans to focus as much on what Trump would do with power if he’s reelected as on what Biden has done in office.

Has This Effort to Put Abortion on the Ballot Been Aborted?
A judge has struck down an effort to enshrine reproductive rights, including abortion, in Nevada’s constitution, as abortion rights advocates in the western swing state attempt to follow other states in putting the question before voters in 2024.
Judge James T. Russell in Carson City District Court concluded on Tuesday that the proposed ballot initiative is too broad, contains a “misleading description of effect” and has an unfunded mandate.
The petition, if passed by voters, would have amended the state constitution to include the “fundamental right to reproductive freedom,” including prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, birth control, vasectomy, tubal ligation, abortion and abortion care.
“This is probably the clearest case I have seen that I think there is a violation of the single-subject rule,” Russell said on Tuesday, according to KOLO-TV Reno, which first reported the ruling. “I’ve seen a lot of them over the years and in respect to this particular matter, there are too many subjects. Not all of which are functionally related to each other.”
Russell, the son of former Republican Gov. Charles Russell, was appointed to the bench in January 2007 by moderate Republican Gov. Kenny Guinn. He was threatened after dismissing a lawsuit brought by former President Donald Trump’s campaign seeking to nullify President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral win in Nevada.
The political action committee Nevadans for Reproductive Rights filed the petition to enshrine reproduction rights in the constitution with the Nevada Secretary of State’s office on Sept. 14.
On Oct. 5, the Coalition for Parents and Children PAC filed a complaint with the court challenging the petition’s legality. If allowed to proceed, Nevadans for Reproductive Rights would need just over 100,000 signatures to get the issue on the ballot.
Asked about a possible appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court, Nevadans for Reproductive Rights attorney Bradley Schrager said the group is “considering its options.”
Nevadans for Reproductive Rights president Lindsay Harmon said the group “will not let one judge’s misguided ruling deter us from giving Nevadans the opportunity to vote to permanently protect their reproductive rights in the Nevada Constitution.”
Jason Guinasso, an attorney for the Coalition for Parents and Children PAC, said he was happy with the ruling but expected the other side to appeal.

The Finnish Want to Finish Immigration From RussiaWhen Finland joined NATO earlier this year, Russia threatened retaliation. Now, hundreds of migrants from the Middle East and Africa have appeared at Finland's border from Russia, seeking entry into the Nordic country. Finnish officials say the sudden surge in asylum-seekers is no coincidence. They accuse Russia of driving the migrants to the border to sow discord as payback for Finland's membership in NATO. Here is a look at the migration challenge playing out along parts of Finland’s 830-mile (1,340-kilometer) border with Russia. WHAT HAPPENED? There has long been a trickle of asylum-seekers showing up at border checkpoints in Finland, which is the European Union's easternmost member. But this month saw a sudden surge. According to official statistics, more than 900 migrants have arrived in Finland so far since August, more than 800 in November alone. Finnish authorities say they hail from countries including Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan, and that unlike in the past, the Russian authorities let them get that far even though they lack documents. They arrive in sneakers in Finland's harsh winter conditions, most riding bicycles. “We have proof showing that, unlike before, not only Russian border authorities are letting people without proper documentation to the Finnish border, but they are also actively helping them to the border zone,” Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen told The Associated Press on Wednesday. Why Finland is blaming Russia for a sudden influx of migrants on its eastern border
