If you believe KenPom, Long Island is better than St Francis. #357 over #359 out of 362 teams.
Torvick puts the Sharks ahead of the Leopards, #356 vs #360. (Long Island should play Jackson College so we can see the Sharks against the Jets.)
In any event, they are both among the worst teams in the country. The computers say they are bad at both offense and defense. They also expect us to win.
LIU has a 7-footer, but the five guys who play the most minutes range from 5-11 to 6-6. Long Guy-land University has a lot of short guys. These guys are the Mini-Sharks.
Here are a few stats, not that stats after 3 games mean much.
R.J. Greene leads the team in scoring and rebounding. He takes just under half of their shots (24 out of 49), all inside the arc. He doesn't make a high percentage. He also leads the team in turnovers.
The Sharks are not a big 3-point shooting team. Only 28% of their attempts are from beyond the arc, and they are only making 31% of them.
There are only three guys who have shot many threes. Terell Strickland is 4 of 7, Andre Washington is 3 of 6, but Tana Kopa has almst half the team's atttempts. He is 3 of 14 on the season.
Terell Strickland leads them in assists, but he has a poor 1.0 A/TO ratio.
Andre Washington leads the team with 2 steals per game.
There is no real reason to expect much of a challenge from Long Island.
