Gaza is REALLY Bad
Across the Gaza Strip, more than 2 million people are at risk as the supply of potable water runs out, amid a blockade on humanitarian supplies.
“It has become a matter of life and death. It is a must; fuel needs to be delivered now into Gaza to make water available for 2 million people,” said Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General.
No humanitarian supplies have been allowed into Gaza for a week.
Clean water is running out in Gaza, after its water plant and public water networks have stopped working.
People are now forced to use dirty water from wells, increasing risks of waterborne diseases. Gaza has also been under an electricity blackout since October 11, impacting the water supply.
At the UN base in the southern Gaza Strip - where UNRWA has moved its operations - drinking water is also running out.
Thousands of people have sought refuge there after Israel issued a warning to residents demanding them to leave their homes in the northern parts of the Strip.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced within the past 12 hours. The exodus continues as people move to the southern parts of the Gaza Strip. Nearly 1 million people have been displaced within a week.
One Good Turn Deserves Another, But I Am Not Sure About One Bad Turn

Is This the QOP's Idea of a Good Guy With a Gun?
The Supreme Court should guarantee gun rights for an accused domestic abuser, several Second Amendment defenders finally wrote in court filings last week.
The Second Amendment movement had not, to date, voiced much public support for Zackey Rahimi’s cause. But the amicus filings offer a window into gun groups’ thinking on the questions posed by USA v. Zackey Rahimi, which promises to define how the Court will interpret the right to bear arms in the coming years, and specifically whether laws banning domestic abusers from gun possession are constitutional. The Court will hear oral arguments in the case next month.
The Supreme Court’s last three major decisions to expand gun rights all emerged out of civil court cases brought by law-abiding firearm owners and an advocacy group.
Rahimi, on the other hand, features a potentially unsympathetic defendant accused of repeatedly shooting guns at people, into houses, at cars, and into the air.
In addition to the alleged domestic violence against his former partner, with whom he has a young child, Rahimi faces felony prosecutions in Tarrant County, Texas, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against three separate people, recklessly discharging a firearm and possession of fentanyl.
He publicly discharged firearms at least six times, including repeatedly shooting at a separate young woman he lured into a parking lot, according to court filings and police records obtained by HuffPost. After landing in prison to face his state criminal charges, he attacked a prison guard, according to an incident report.

He Clearly Has Strudle for Brains
Donald Trump finally found the perfect treat on Friday to go with a cup of covfefe: a “STOLLEN” election.
Stollen is a delicious German Christmas bread similar to fruitcake — and the latest spelling gaffe for the ex-president.
Trump of course meant “STOLEN” in his all-caps Truth Social blather blaming the Hamas attack on the lie that the 2020 U.S. election was rigged against him and he therefore couldn’t be in charge to keep the peace.
Hamas militants stormed Israel in an Oct. 7 killing spree, sparking a war that has already claimed the lives of thousands of Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza.
“THE ATTACK ON ISRAEL WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, ZERO CHANCE, IF THE ELECTION OF 2020 WAS NOT RIGGED AND STOLLEN. IT SHOWS THE WORLD HOW IMPORTANT ELECTIONS ARE... HOW COULD CROOKED JOE BIDEN, THE WORST AND MOST INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN?” Trump wrote.

The Truth About the Speaker Job
“Observing the House GOP electing a speaker is like watching a monkey trying to hump a football,” wrote former GOP strategist Jeff Timmer.
Frankly, I’m not sure what that means. But I have no trouble envisioning it. And it seems like an absurdly apt image for our absurd moment.
But this is what Republicans wanted, isn’t it? They wanted revolution; they cultivated chaos; they embraced dysfunction. They wanted to burn it all down. This is what they asked for. And now they are getting it good and hard.
This is a party that lost its mind, and then lost its way.
Republicans may continue to win elections, and even regain power. But what we are seeing is a political party that has lost the ability to govern even at the most basic level.

Another Biden Action That the Media Will Ignore
Large-scale clean energy projects from Pennsylvania to California have been selected by the Biden administration for a $7 billion program to kickstart development and production of hydrogen fuel, a key component of President Joe Biden's agenda to slow climate change.
His goal is to establish seven regional hydrogen hubs to help replace fossil fuels such as coal and oil with cleaner-burning hydrogen as an energy source for vehicles, manufacturing and generating electricity.
Biden is expected to make the official announcement during an economic-themed visit to Philadelphia on Friday.
The White House calls clean hydrogen “essential to achieving the president’s vision of a strong clean energy economy" and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. by 2050.
“As a clean fuel, hydrogen complements the role played by other clean energy sources, like wind and solar, to help the U.S. reduce emissions in energy-intensive sectors of the economy: steel and cement production, heavy-duty transportation, and shipping,'' the White House said in a statement.

Who Knows What Tomorrow May Bring? The specter of a developing El Niño invokes distressing memories for many Californians. Rainstorms tied to a super-strength El Niño episode overwhelmed southern parts of the state and killed 17 people in the winter of 1997-1998. With forecasts the infamous climate pattern could reach a similar intensity this winter, the Golden State is bracing for more floods, not even a year removed from one of its wettest stretches on record. This fall, California officials are lining up $52 million for levee repairs and, compared to a year ago, longer stretches of temporary flood walls and millions more sandbags to prepare for what the winter might bring. But whether California winds up making use of those preparations depends on an unpredictable mix of climate and weather indicators, none of which guarantee California and the Southwest are in line for more slugs of precipitation. El Niño tilts the odds in favor of another wet year, but it doesn’t assure one. “There are always ways in which Mother Nature can throw us a curveball,” Karla Nemeth, director of the state’s Department of Water Resources, told reporters at a briefing last week. As El Niño looms, California braces for storms and floods
