Fox Noise Doesn't Care Weather It's True
The idea that the government is spreading chemicals in the sky through airplanes has been covered by conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones, but the notion went mainstream on Sunday with a discussion on Fox News.
The remarks came during a segment about the Biden administration's openness to studying how to block some of the sun's radiation from reaching the Earth to combat climate change.
Climate change denier Marc Morano blasted the proposal.
"This is radical, risky, unproven, unknown effects, but they're doing it as a sort of lever over us to say now in the Biden administration, kind of like, yeah, we know this is dangerous, we don't know the effects, but darn it, people aren't buying electric cars fast enough, or they're not embracing Green New Deal policies, so we have to risk our entire planet with this insane kind of research," Morano said.
"It's basically weather modification," he added. "It's another form of what the US government has even been doing. The ABC News meteorologist bragged about the cloud seeding they're doing to increase rain or snow and storms. They will control, the government will control the weather, and you will be happy. That seems to be the new motto."
Fox News host Joey Jones indicated he believed so-called chemtrails were modifying the weather.
Personally, I Don't Think We Will Control Carbon Emissions, and Reflecting Sunlight May Be the Most Effective way Way to Fight Warming

Are They Holding Families Hostage to Prevent Defections?
The ultra-nationalist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) is working on a bill that would temporarily ban the travel of close relatives of high-ranking officials to "unfriendly countries," the RIA state news agency reported on Sunday.
Russia considers all countries that have hit it with sanctions over its military campaign in Ukraine to be "unfriendly."
Citing a member of the Russian Duma, Sergei Karginov, RIA reported that restrictions may also affect, among others, law enforcement officers, judges, top managers of state corporations, and the board of directors of the Central Bank.

Flori-Dumb and Flori-Dumber
Hospitals ask patients a lot of prsonal questions. Medical history? Medications? Preexisting conditions? Smoke, drink or do drugs?
As of Saturday, you’ll have one more question to answer: What’s your immigration status?
Florida hospitals that accept Medicaid will be required to query patients about that, although a person can decline to answer. The measure is just one of many in a new bill, SB 1718, approved by the Florida Legislature and signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in May to crack down on the flow of illegal immigration into the state.
The bill states that hospitals will be required to include a statement on the forms notifying patients that their response to the question will not affect their care or result in a report of the patient’s immigration status to immigration authorities. Opponents of the bill have said the immigration question will scare, and stop, some people from seeking care.
When Immigrants Don't Get Medical Care Promptly, They Are More Likely to Spread Disease to Everyone

Who Wants to Party Like It's 1783?
The U.S. Constitution hasn’t been meaningfully amended since 1971. Congress sent the Equal Rights Amendment to the states for ratification in 1972, but its derailment rendered the Constitution effectively unamendable. It’s not that people stopped trying. Conservatives, especially, tried.
In 1982, President Ronald Reagan endorsed a balanced-budget amendment. In the 1990s, Republicans proposed anti-flag-burning amendments, fetal-personhood amendments and defense-of-marriage amendments. Lately, amendments have been coming from the left. “Nationally, Democrats generally wish to amend constitutions and Republicans to preserve them,” The Economist proclaimed last month, on the same day that California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, proposed a federal constitutional amendment that would regulate gun ownership. “I don’t know what the hell else to do,” he said, desperate.
The consequences of a constitution frozen in time in the age of Evel Knievel, “Shaft” and the Pentagon Papers are dire. Consider, for instance, climate change. Members of Congress first began proposing environmental rights amendments in 1970. They got nowhere. Today, according to one researcher, 148 of the world’s 196 national constitutions include environmental protection provisions. But not ours. Or take democratic legitimacy. Over the last decades, and beginning even earlier, as the political scientists Daniel Ziblatt and Steven Levitsky point out in a forthcoming book, “The Tyranny of the Minority,” nearly every other established democracy has eliminated the type of antiquated, antidemocratic provisions that still hobble the United States: the Electoral College, malapportionment in the Senate and lifetime tenure for Supreme Court justices. None of these problems can be fixed except by amending the Constitution, which, seemingly, can’t be done.

They Say That Heat Is the Worst KillerThere are a number of significant weather events that residents of this great nation have to endure every year. Given three guesses as to which one produces the greatest number of fatalities, what would your answer be? Violent winds from a hurricane or tornado, lightning from thunderstorms, and rising floodwaters come to mind. But the weather event that actually produces the greatest number of fatalities is heat. The U.S. Natural Hazard Statistics provide statistical information on fatalities caused by weather related hazards. These statistics are issued by the National Weather Service. According to a National Weather Service report, in a 30-year period from 1986-2015, an average of 130 people lost their lives as a result of heat; a greater number than all other weather events. (Should be "any other weather event.")

Another Witness of Criminal Action by Witless
Stephanie Grisham, Trump's former White House press secretary and communications director, appeared on MSNBC on Saturday to discuss the newest revelations with Trump's criminal indictment for purported mishandling of classified materials post-presidency. Grisham is first asked by the host if she had ever crossed paths with Susie Wiles, whom many have speculated is one of the aides who was shown a classified document, according to the indictment.
"Yes, I have crossed paths with her, she is pretty well-known in political circles. In fact she used to work for Ron DeSantis, until they had a falling out," Grisham said. "So, I know Trump really needs her in the position that she's in, because DeSantis is his biggest competition at this moment."
She added that, if it's true that Miles was the one allegedly shown a classified document, "That is going to obviously put her in a very awkward position."
"I do believe, you know, I'm sure people all in the Trump world right now are working hard to figure out if it's her, asking her questions. It will just put her in an awkward position. I'm interested to see how it will play out ultimately, because he is not trusting many people right now."
Asked if it is "plausible" that Trump was showing classified documents to people in private meetings, Grisham said: "the short answer is yes."
"I watched him show documents to people at Mar-a-Lago, on the dining room patio," she added. "He has no respect for classified information, and never did."
After hearing audio of the alleged meeting in which Trump purportedly showed military documents on Iran, Grisham said, "Listening to that exchange, every time it just makes me so angry."
No Shortage of Witnesses to Crimes by Witless
Seeing his prospects for a second term rapidly dimming in late 2020, President Donald Trump pressed Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) to procure made-up votes that could tip the scales in his favor, The Washington Post reported Saturday citing three people familiar with their call.
The now-former president enacted a similar pressure campaign against Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) with an order to “find” votes, which was recorded and is currently the subject of criminal investigations.
Ducey did not record his call with Trump, the newspaper said.
The Post report shines new light on the Trump camp’s efforts to overturn Democratic rival Joe Biden’s victory in Arizona; at the time, it was reported that Trump’s allies in the Republican Party were putting pressure on local election officials.
Trump also tried to use his vice president, Mike Pence, to coerce Ducey into changing the results of the election, according to the Post, which noted that Pence called Ducey but did not pressure him.
Ducey does not appear to have been swayed. In a video from late November 2020, the governor was seen ignoring a call from Trump while he signed documents officially certifying the election results, which showed Trump lost the state.

80,000 Pages. No Lie!
Prosecutors said they have more than 80,000 pages of evidence against Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) in his federal fraud and money laundering case.
Santos learned of the mountain of evidence that will be used against him during a brief court hearing Friday in a Long Island courtroom.
Santos was slapped with 13 charges by the Department of Justice in May for allegedly collecting unemployment benefits while earning a $120,000 annual salary. His charges include wire fraud, theft of public funds, money laundering and lying to the House of Representatives. Santos has pleaded not guilty.
The freshman congressman is a serial liar who has fabricated stories, including the false claim that his mom was killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack. His mom wasn’t living in the country at the time of the attack.

The Moms Who Started The School Board Wars Are Now Presidential Kingmakers
The 650 Moms for Liberty members gathered this week at the Marriott in downtown Philadelphia have had a challenging month. First, the Southern Poverty Law Center, an anti-hate watchdog, labeled the moms an anti-government extremist group for their attempts to ban books and restrict classroom discussion around gender and race. Two weeks later, one of its chapters was forced to apologize for quoting Adolf Hitler in one of its newsletters.
The wave of terrible news did little to discourage five Republican presidential hopefuls, including former President Donald Trump, from addressing the gathering of parental rights activists who have already begun seeing the backlash to their new political movement.
The candidates happily pandered to the group, whose organizers invited the entire presidential field, Democrats included, to their second annual Joyful Warriors National Summit. Republicans view these women — and the smattering of men here — as potential kingmakers and the event as an opportunity to woo the right’s fastest-growing constituency.

How Many Gigawatts Will It Take?
A fully electric flying car that'll cost about $300,000 just won approval to start testing on the road – and in the air.
Alef Aeronautics, a Californian automaker, said in a press release it had received a Special Airworthiness Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Model A.
It's the first such approval for a flight-capable car, according to the startup, which has been backed by the likes of SpaceX.
Alef CEO Jim Dukhovny said: "It allows us to move closer to bringing people an environmentally friendly and faster commute, saving individuals and companies hours each week. This is one small step for planes, one giant step for cars."
Due to evolving FAA restrictions tied to the unprecedented capabilities of flying cars, Alef said its certification limits the locations and purpose for which it is permitted to fly.
The company aimed to produce the first flying car with both street driving and vertical take-off capabilities. It's designed to fit within existing urban infrastructure for driving and parking.
The flying car is able to take off vertically or horizontally, and can carry up to two people. It's expected to have a road range of 200 miles and a flying range of 110 miles.
Buyers can pay a $150 deposit to join the general queue, or $1,500 to get priority access when deliveries start.
About 440 people paid deposits in the final three months of 2022, Alef said in January.
In December, Dukhovny told CNBC Make It that customers could expect to see their cars in the sky by 2025.
Alef wasn't the only flying car and air taxi company to make a major regulatory breakthrough in recent days.
On Wednesday, shares in flying taxi comapny Joby Aviation soared 44% after it also received a Special Airworthiness Certificate from the FAA.

Dumber Than Flori-DumbTwo 14-year-olds fell to their deaths while subway surfing one week apart in New York, police said. Subway surfing is when an individual rides on top of a train car. The most recent incident happened Thursday evening. Officers with the New York Police Department responded to the 33 Street and Rawson Street subway station in Queens around 5:26 p.m to find an unconscious Jevon Fraser. Fraser was laying on a 7 train platform and had injuries "indicative of falling from an elevated height," according to police. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. On June 22, police found two 14-year-old boys lying on the L train tracks at the Bushwick Avenue and Aberdeen Street subway station in Brooklyn. Medics pronounced one of them dead on the scene. Police later identified the victim as Brian Crespo. The other 14-year-old was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. These aren't the only incidents where youngsters have been surfing atop New York City transit. Witnesses saw a 12-year-old boy riding a 7 train at the Queens Boulevard and 33 Street subway station on Wednesday evening. It was his fourth subway surfing incident. "He was taken into custody and issued a Juvenile Report for Reckless Endangerment," police said in a statement. On April 5, the same child was subway surfing on an R train when he fell off and sustained injuries to his head, a laceration to his right knee and bruising to his back. "Even after falling off the train in one of the incidents, he continues to risk his life," the NYPD said in a tweet Saturday. "Officers are out there ensuring you have a safe ride -- don’t take risks on the subway."

In my tiny patch of this rock, someone my wife knows was convinced that the vapor contrails left by jet engines was evidence that the government was spraying us with unknown chemicals. Cloud seeding has been around for years, so they're just kicking a dead dog. If ignorance is bliss, then these folks must be the happiest people on the planet. Looking ahead towards the 2024 presidential election, we're in for a bumpy ride. All the Republicans need to do is to fool enough of the people and this country will resume circling the drain. BTW, I've been sharing your one-liners and people like them. Where do you get them?
