Dear Abby, I joined the Navy to see the world. I've seen it. Now how do I get out?
Dear Abby, My forty year old son has been paying a psychiatrist $80.00 an hour every week for two and a half years. He must be crazy.
From One Liar to Another
Or From One Criminal to Another
According to reporting by The New York Times, a records review found documents showing a group by the name of RedStone Strategies raised $800,000 for Santos’ campaign and was hoping to raise $700,000 more. One donor gave $25,000 to Redstone, but what remains murky is where that donation money went.
The Times reports that Redstone Strategies never registered itself as a political group, and groups like these are required to register with the FEC and disclose donors.
According to The Daily Beast, Santos’ Devolder Organization formed an entity in Florida by the name of RedStone Strategies, and the Rise NY PAC paid $8,000 to a “Redstone Strategy Group” located in Boulder, Colorado. But when The Daily Beast attempted to reach out to RedStone and ask about the Rise NY PAC donation, they were told there were no payments received by that name.
Now it appears that the $700,000 donation may have come from laundered money from a “classic Ponzi scheme” from a Florida-based “Harbor City Capital,” according to The Washington Post.

If You Think California's Floods Are Bad, ...
It was just a few short weeks ago, and iceberg B22 was stuck on a sea mount 62 miles from Thwaites glacial tongue located in the shallow and highly vulnerable Amundsen Sea Embayment, which contains the West Antarctic glaciers of Pine Island, Ninnis, and Thwaites.
For twenty years, the massive iceberg (53 miles long and 40 miles wide), with a melange of sea ice and icebergs cemented together, protected the remaining tongue and buttressed the ice behind it from the stormy waves of the southern ocean. But in December 2022, the iceberg broke away from the Amundsen sea mount it was stuck on and drifted out into the Southern Ocean, taking the sea ice behind it along with it. Since then, icebergs B28 And B29 also drifted away, and smaller unnamed icebergs have crumbled.
Four systems are buttressing Thwaites's land ice from sending two feet of sea level rise into the ocean. They are the sea ice protecting Pine Island Glacier (the Eastern Thwaites Ice Shelf), Icebergs B22A and B29 (have drifted away), and B45 are all located in the Western Thwaites ice shelf and lastly, the Thwaites ice tongue. All four are simultaneously collapsing. Over time, the collapse will release ten feet of sea-level rise. The loss will inundate Lagos, Shanghai, London, Miami, Boston, and New York, just a few of countless coastal cities that will eventually lead to civilizational collapse.

Who Hates M&Ms? TucKKKer, Of Course
While Jair Bolsonaro fanatics attempted their own Jan. 6 style coup d’état of the government in Brazil, a war continued to rage in Ukraine and Russia, and the Republican Party took forever to figure out who their figurehead leader would be in the House of Representatives, Fox News had bigger fish to fry: woke M&M’s.
With Christmas almost a year away and Halloween nowhere in sight, Fox News needed to come up with something to scream about, and they came up with “woke M&M’s.” What made the candy so “woke,” in their estimation? The parent company of the candy, Mars Wrigley, announced they would be donating some of the profits from their M&M sales to organizations that support a variety of professional pursuits by women.
That was over the weekend. By Monday, someone had clipped a 14-second clip of Tucker Carlson reckoning with an upcoming “woke M&M’s” segment. We live in interesting and difficult times. Please. Enjoy.
In the clip, Tucker says. Verbatim. Into a microphone. On camera: “Woke M&M's have returned. The green M&M got her boots back, but apparently is now a lesbian, maybe? And there's also a plus-sized obese purple M&M, so we're gonna cover that, of course. Because that's what we do.”

$25,000? That Won't Deter Anyone.
Three Michigan electors are suing a slate of 16 Republicans, claiming they illegally plotted to replace “duly elected and qualified” electors to overthrow Donald Trump’s 2020 defeat in the state.
The fake electors are accused in the suit of a “fraudulent scheme to steal the election and install the losing candidate as President.” Michigan’s 16 real electoral votes were cast for Joe Biden. The fakes went for Trump.
The suit asks a judge to declare that the “fake elector scheme was illegal under Michigan law.” It “attempted to subvert the sacred right of qualified voters in Michigan, enshrined in the state Constitution, to have their votes counted,” the lawsuit states, according to the Detroit News.
Trump and his allies plotted to install fake Electoral College electors in Michigan and six other swing states that were won by Biden, according to the House Jan. 6 committee. The failed plot climaxed with the Capitol riot and is a central focus of the Justice Department’s ongoing criminal investigation.
The Michigan GOP electors violated multiple criminal laws, the lawsuit alleges, including state statutes against election law forgery, and obstructing or attempting to obstruct “any elector in the exercise” of their duties. The real electors “suffered humiliation, mental anguish and stress as a result of being cast in the false light created by defendants’ election fraud and lies,” states the lawsuit, which seeks at least $25,000 in damages.
One of the fake electors being sued, Michigan GOP co-chair Meshawn Maddock, said at a conservative event a year ago that Trump’s campaign directed party members to rig the slate to declare Trump the winner.
One of the plaintiffs, Blake Mazurek, tweeted that the suit aims to “remedy ... the damage caused by the spurious electors” and “deter them from engaging in election fraud again.”

Californians May be Liberal, But Smart?
The wave of storms battering California are far from over, and it’s too early to calculate the cost of damage to homes and businesses overwhelmed by floodwaters.
But the final tally will be in the billions of dollars, says Trevor Burgess, CEO of Neptune Flood, among the nation’s largest private flood insurance companies. Only 2% of homeowners in California have flood insurance, he said, adding that standard homeowners insurance does not cover flood damage.
A recent climate assessment by the U.S. Global Change Research Program found that "atmospheric rivers" such as those sweeping across California will become more common and more severe as global temperatures increase.
"Unfortunately, these sorts of flooding events are the new normal and can no longer be considered a one-in-100-year sort of event," Burgess said.
