As the fox vomit shows this is gallons of gasoline on the MAGA fire, and a large segment of Americans will believe every word of it. I applaud Garland's courage, but he has sure crawled WAY out on a limb. Hope it holds. This is a dangerous time.

A federal judge sanctioned the warrant. They waited eighteen months to bring the hammer down. Won't he look good in orange? Stripes?

I suspect that DOJ got new information recently about something going on in Mar-a-Lago. I don't think they went to a judge with a bunch of old information.

It's my impression that AG Garland lines his ducks up first. It's likely he's already got a long row of them at the ready position. Trump is going to huff and puff but the house (American Democracy) won't get blown down. If Trump has done the crime, then he should do the time. We must live by the laws and not the whims of a deranged man.

I agree with nearly everything you guys posted. The points I was trying to make are: 1. I totally agree with the decision to search ML based solely on faith in Garland. 2. It did ignite a firestorm on right wing media, and among insurrectionist groups, and among MAGA supporters countrywide, and among repub congress. There could be serious consequences in media kickback, right wing voter cohesion, legislative retribution, and maybe violence. It also took the spotlight off Biden's successes. 3. Unless the search results in an indictment and a conviction the price paid in number two above may be too high and not worth it. It's certainly not worth just retrieving documents. And an indictment with no conviction would set in stone the continued witch hunt narrative. So for now I'll have faith in Garland and hope there's a smoking gun, and that he can close the deal with a conviction. But I still would not bet a truckload of money on the conviction. Would you? The FBI says the raid had unintended consequences: www.rawstory.com/fbi-informant-trump/

The FBI says the raid had unintended consequences: www.rawstory.com/fbi-informant-trump/Trump reacted as expected. Always the showman, he asserted his "beautiful home" was "raided and occupied by a large group FBI Agents". Then he tossed in "prosecutorial misconduct, and "weaponization of the Justice System", all because his enemies are desperate; they don't want him to run in 2024. He's a criminal who plays the victim card early and often. More than that, he's a disgusting POS. And of course, he'll use this as another fund-raising opportunity, casting himself as the savior of the American Way of life. If he wins, this country loses. I'm glad I just turned 85 and probably won't be around if the Peoples Republic of Trumpistan takes over.

Garland seeking release of search warrant by court. "You want to mischaracterize this, then let's make it public what you were holding on to."
(Top secret nuclear materials.)
