The sprawling Sunday disaster left members of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies among the dead, and at least a dozen children and a priest among the injured.
NBC News cited five law enforcement officials who also noted investigators were looking into the possibility the Milwaukee resident had been fleeing an earlier incident involving a knife fight at the time of the Sunday afternoon parade. Brooks has not been charged with a crime in the Sunday incident. The Associated Press also reported Brooks was a person of interest, citing two officials.
Public records show Brooks has a significant criminal history in Wisconsin that spans over two decades. "Some people calculate, 'Hey, you know, I don't want to go over the $950, so let me steal $949 worth of property,'" San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said earlier this year.

In 2020, California exported $5.7 billion worth of electric vehicles, amounting to 3.7% of the state’s total exports. Aircraft and plane engines and parts came in second. The next few items are related to computer chips and modems. Almonds and diamonds come in 6th and 7th. Joe Biden rightly considers electric vehicles a potential winner for American industry if we don’t let China get a technological and market edge and crowd us out of the market. There is money in the just-passed infrastructure bill for electric charging stations to encourage EV sales.

The White House confirmed Monday that more than 90% of 3.5 million federal employees covered by a presidential COVID-19 vaccine mandate have received at least one vaccine dose ahead of a Monday deadline.
In total, the administration has deemed 95% of federal workers comply with its requirements in that either they have been vaccinated, are completing vaccinations or have a pending religious or medical exemption request, the White House said.
Officials declined to disclose to Reuters the total number of fully vaccinated federal employees, but said the "vast majority" of the 90% have received both doses.

Two conservative commentators who have appeared on Fox News for more than a decade have resigned from the right-wing network over what they say is a “dangerous” Tucker Carlson special filled with lies about the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes, two co-founders of the conservative website The Dispatch, wrote that Carlson’s “Patriot Purge” special was “a collection of incoherent conspiracy-mongering, riddled with factual inaccuracies, half-truths, deceptive imagery, and damning omissions.”
They praised some of the reporters at Fox News, but said the “voices of the responsible are being drowned out by the irresponsible.”
