www.burlisononbasketball.com/2021/08/kohler-spends-sunday-afternoon-conducting-a-clinic-on-low-post-hoops/So this Jaxon Kohler might wind up at USC? Ick. Ew. 53 points on 20-30 from the floor against one of Mick Cronin's priority recruits? I guess the defense got left behind in Cincinnati. One question springs immediately to mind: What is the payroll for Southern California Academy and are they paying luxury tax? They have: #69 Jaxon Kohler, 6-8 2022 #104 Jaylen Thompson, 6-7 2022 (likely headed to the Tree in Palo Alto) #39 Jordan Walsh, 6-7 2022 #138 Oziyah Sellers, 6-5 2022 (committed to USC, ick, ew) But their best player is Varick Lewis, 6-4 SG 2023. They aren't allowed to compete in the state championships. Only real schools get to do that. Portland has two players from that "prep school" (preparing them for what?). ShanTay Legans brought them over from Eastern Washington and they're both from Australia before they came here to be prepped. Legs told me he was going to sign Thompson, Sellers and Lewis. Nope. Portland is doing very well with DJ Smith, 6-4 SG Damien 2022. Every Pac-12 school should be recruiting him, but they were either transfixed by Malik Thomas or by potential transfers. He's better than Sellers, Thompson and Walsh.
