By a former UCLA player, who was reluctant to say much except:
1. Jaime Jaquez looks really, really good. He looks taller, slimmer but stronger, quicker, more explosive off the dribble and he's scorching the nets out to 27 feet. That coincides with reports on his play in the Drew League.
2. Cody Riley's in shape sooner than he's ever been before and playing a more outspoken role as a leader on the floor. He usually speaks as little in practice and games as he does in the post-game pressers, but he seems to have found his voice as he approaches his 24th birthday on December 21. Nobody takes a play off with Cody Riley ready to get on their case if they do. The coaches are very pleased. An angry Cody is a scary Cody.
3. Jaylen Clark looks much improved, as does Tyger Campbell, especially with the form on their jumpers. Tyger looks quicker too, maybe finally 100% back from his ACL tear and with the type of training that can make a player stronger, faster, quicker and give them better hops as they mature.
4. Everybody looks better. But the 4 above have made the biggest impression on this particular observer.
Just one person's opinion. FWIW.
I would guess if other former players are getting a chance to watch, I can find more viewpoints. I know someone who's incredibly tight with Tyus Edney and I imagine he's watching the workouts.
