He's already taken official visits to his final 4 and will visit all of them again: September 18 for UCLA.
24/7 crystal ball has him for Duke.
I'll call it: UCLA.
That leaves UCLA with one last ride and Cronin obviously wants a C. He's offered 6 (and I'm no longer counting Kyle Filipowski, who blew UCLA off).
It sounds like Adem Bona will commit to Kentucky next weekend.
It sure sounds like UCLA has zero chance at Derrick Lively. He never mentions us at all.
That leaves Traore, Udeh, Iwuchukwu and Nganga.
Nganga will be playing with Dylan Andrews this year at Compass Prep.
Iwuchukwu is at Montverde Academy (Alfred Aboya played there). My take is, a big city player near the beach is more likely to think seriously about a school like UCLA.
Udeh's profile seems more like a player from SEC/ACC/Big 12 country: That's exactly where he's focused except for UCLA. Sounds like a long shot to me.
Traore, at Prolific Prep in Napa, has said he plans to visit both UCLA and USC. Rivals seems to like him: basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals-roundtable-transfer-portal-stock-boosters-overtime-elite
Finally, he plays for Dream Vision: That's an LA-based AAU program (Makur Makur played for them, as did Jake Kyman). Jeremiah Nyarko, 6-9 G (UCLA-style positioning) plays for them as well and I think he's ahead of locals like Tre White of Ribet Academy (call me not a fan) and Christian Watson of Long Beach Poly if he's still unsigned and both Mitchell and Julian Phillips turn UCLA down.
Nyarko is an excellent 3-point shooter as well as someone who can create off the dribble. He's ranked #148 right now by 24/7, compared to White at #50 (White is 6-6, soft, not very athletic and not remotely the shooter Nyarko is, but he has a great press agent).
I looked at the list of schools for Nyarko on 24/7. Two coaches who've offered him aren't listed there and one told me that Nyarko has said he wants to wait until Spring to see if he picks up more offers. So, Cronin might have a chance if he waits too long and both Mitchell and Phillips go somewhere else.
