1. A writer critiquing Andy Katz's preseason top 36 wrote that Isaiah Mobley came back to school "to prove he can possibly be as good as his brother." The writer just wrote it; he wasn't quoting Isaiah Mobley, he just made that up to criticize Katz for leaving USC out of his top 36. It was his turn of phrase, not an IM from IM.
2. In their 4 games in the NCAA Tournament, 72-56 over Drake, 85-51 over Kansas (which is top 4 projected because they return 4 starters and add Remy Martin), 82-68 over Oregon in the Sweet 16 and a 85-66 loss to Gonzaga in the Elite 8, Isaiah Mobley averaged 31.0 MPG, 16.0 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.8 APG, 1 BPG, 0.5 TOPG and shot 25-41 from the floor (.610), 5-11 from 3 (.454), and 8-9 from the FT line (.889).
As people are projecting with Johnny Juzang (as with hundreds of other players from the past), stepping up in the spotlight almost always (not always, but almost always) previews a step-up in play from that point moving forward.
Please don't put words in someone's mouth without asking and please don't cherry-pick stats to prove a false premise.
Thank you.

Add: You've never seen Reece Waters play except in scrub time for a very deep Elite 8 team, so how good do you know he will be? By comparative stats registered in scrub time?
Kijani Wright of Compton Magic has trimmed UCLA off his list, but not USC.
Cheviz Goodwin got a lot better in his first year at USC and we'll see how hotly-pursued by UCLA 7-0 SO Joshua Morgan plays now that he's eligible for USC.
Neither played for the Compton Magic.
Neither did Isaiah White. He came to USC to play for Mobley too.
Eric Mobley is an outstanding big man's coach for big men not including his children and he's an outstanding coach period. I've actually watched Compton Magic practices and games where he was their coach.
Jon Wilner's remarks were born out of ignorance or malice, but I do agree with him on one point (sort of): Andy Enfield might not be the best coach for USC.
Eric Mobley and Jason Hart II could both be better and should already be head coaches somewhere else.
If CSUN escapes a post-season ban and loss of scholarships by jettisoning the pirate crew of former UCLA coaches, they'd be pretty smart to hire one of those guys as the new head coach.
As a UCLA fan, I'm rooting for Jason to get that job.
I really am. For Jason's sake.
And I hope Eric gets the job at ASU after Hurley gets hurled.
I'd rather get beat by ASU than USC.
But Enfield really does know how to teach people how to shoot. For his entire 8 years at USC, most of his players including Bennie Boatwright, Jordan Mclaughlin, Elijah Stewart, Jonah Matthews, Taj Eaddy, Ethan Anderson, Isaiah Mobley, etc., have become better shooters... sometimes in just a few weeks of practice or from year to year.
Eric Mobley is the one who runs the defense.
Whatever will Andy Enfield do with recruits like Reece Waters, Malik Thomas and Harrison Hornery? Waters is 6-5 200 and he's solid to 18 feet, Thomas is 6-5 205 and his range is about 23-25 feet and Hornery is now 6-10 235, 21 years old, and his range is about 25-28... unless he wants to rub it in and shoot it like Trae from 30+ feet out.
Boogie shot 38% from 3 already? Uh oh.
This USC team is going to be very strong.
Ellis Peterson White Mobley Morgan
Anderson (now a JR and a key contributor last year) Waters Thomas Agbonkpolo (now a JR and he finally started hitting 3s and scoring off the dribble in the NCAA Tournament) Goodwin (now a 6th year SR and a key contributor last season) Hornery Choulibaly
So, they return 6 of their top 8 players, not just 3 complimentary starters (Peterson was actually the key guy on the team, if not the most talented; if he had a bad game, mainly as a facilitating "point-forward," which isn't always reflected in assist statistics, USC always lost which wasn't true of anybody else including Eaddy and Evan Mobley).
And they add Morgan and 4 shooters.
I'll rank them in my top 15 for next season.
And I'll rank us #1 preseason.
Oregon will not be ranked in my preseason top 25. Or in my postseason top 25.
