The USC Trojans have made only two Final Fours in their history. They had an objectively better 2021 season than the UCLA Bruins, sweeping Mick Cronin’s team and earning a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament while UCLA gained a No. 11 seed. This was supposed to be a year in which USC stood above UCLA… but then the Bruins made the Final Four.
Yes, it is frustrating. Yes, it is annoying. Yes, the 2021 season could be viewed as a capsule version of USC’s and UCLA’s respective basketball histories. The Trojans can’t catch a break, while UCLA lives a charmed life.
Anyone shedding a tear for the Trojans?
