"Champions aren't satisfied with finishing second." Bill Walton, in his epic rant that redeemed him for years of semi-coherent sins. So, UCLA has to beat Gonzaga and Baylor. But this is worse news for someone else: www.politico.com/news/2021/03/30/trump-campaign-non-disclosure-agreement-478648I'm fairly sure that Trump will spend over 50 million in lawyer bills over the next 4 years as a result of this ruling... and gain nothing.

That might more or less be the hole that the iceberg ripped into the Titanic.

If in fact that ruling does set precedent for other employees, and if all of the people he's threatened and harassed and told to lie came forward he doesn't have enough money to defend the hundreds of lawsuits. What a great day that would be!

www.cnn.com/2021/03/30/politics/us-capitol-police-sue-trump/index.htmlTrump can now spend the next 4-8 years defending himself in these lawsuits. And "at least $75,000" can turn into millions with a runaway jury (or just any jury). What did Abraham Lincoln say? Others get credit, but I'm fairly certain that Lincoln actually said it: "I have found that, in a trial, it's usually the party that tells the best story who wins."

Can he use the PAC money for his legal fees? Although, this may end up being Rep donors throwing money at things other than elections.

It should be remembered that the standards for a verdict in a civil jury trial vary greatly by state.
Here in Cali, we have a fairly easy standard to meet if you have a strong case: 8-4 wins.
If you're sued in D.C., the verdict has to be unanimous, just like in a criminal case.
In Virginia, it's 10-2.
Of course, jury trials are risky business so sensible parties often try to settle.
In my experience, most bullies think they can make life so miserable for the little guy/gal going through an exhausting discovery process, an entire trial and then the years of appeals that follow after that they often miscalculate when the little guy/gal rejects a lowball settlement and drag the whole process out (sometimes out of policy, often out of spite and arrogance). I've been part of that process and my little guy/gal and I (after years of misery) sometimes benefited to the tune of $5 million plus interest plus in some cases where provided by statute or contract attorney's fees when we would've settled for $200,000.
Let's hope Trump pays $5 million to each of those cops and $1 million to his own lawyers in each case...
That would exhaust a quarter billion dollars pretty fast (well, over 4-5 years).
I'll be curious to see if, by the end of the year, Trump decides to use all his PAC Stop the Steal money to just spend on his personal business and existing businesses and decides politics just doesn't pay. He does have several hundred million dollars worth of loans coming due in 2022 and all of his remaining lenders have refused to renegotiate or bail him out. So, he'll need to use a lot of dough for that cause as well or else pay tens of millions to bankruptcy lawyers.
I'd have to go back and find the link, but one person who donated a reported $2 million to Stop the Steal has sued to get his money back, alleging fraud. I assume others will sue as well.
Trump and his family can, of course, sell their political endorsements to the highest bidder. Since spending campaign funds to buy an endorsement is a felony, Trump will wind up endorsing the candidate with the greatest amount of personal wealth who can spend his/her own money and that might not correspond to the candidate best able to win an election.
You made your bed lined with horse manure, Mitch. Lie on him. Forever. You're 79, he's 74, welcome to the last 5-10 years of your life.
