I think part of our last 3 losses, is our lack of physical and mental maturity. It gets easier to maintain focus and stamina as you get older. And it didn't help to lose our only senior and one of our juniors, That left us with 3 upper-classmen. Here are class breakdowns of who played 10 or more minutes in each game.
| UCLA | SC | Freshmen | 2 | 1 | Sophomores | 2 | 3 | Juniors | 3 | 1 | Seniors | 0 | 2 |
I think it is significant that in the closing minutes, Enfield benched sophomore Mobley and played senior Goodwin. They key plays made down the stretch were made by senior Eaddy, senior Goodwin, and junior Peterson.
| UCLA | Oregon | Freshmen | 1 | 0 | Sophomores | 3 | 1 | Juniors | 3 | 2 | Seniors | 0 | 3 |
The one sophomore (Lawson) who played for the Ducks played 15 minutes. The older players all played over 30.
| UCLA | Colorado | Freshmen | 1 | 2 | Sophomores | 3 | 0 | Juniors | 2 | 2 | Seniors | 0 | 5 |
Colorado is heavily senior-laden. The 2 freshmen played 10 minutes each. COACHING TENUREAltman: 11 years Enfield: 8 years Cronin: 2 years It helps to have time to bring in your players and really install your system.
