Just about everyone has us as a #9 seed at this point. What will it take for us to move up? What will it take to avoid moving down? Obviously, we need to win. Just win and everything else falls into place. HOWEVER, our games don't take place in a vacuum. Other teams are competing for those #8 and #9 seeds. We want those teams to lose. Here is a list of the teams that seem to be our biggest competition in the seeding race. I will be keeping an eye on the scores and hoping these teams lose. (Except for Loyola-Chicago who I am fond of. Not only did I grow up miles from their campus, but Harry Potter scarves? Sister Jean? The game of change? How can you not love these guys?) | Lunardi | Palm | DeCourcy | Torvick* | Bracket Matrix | BYU | 8 | 8 | 10 | 6 | 8 | Louisville | 8 | 8 | 7 | 11 | 9 | Loyola-Chicago | 9 | 11 | 9 | 8 | 8 | LSU | 8 | 8 | 9 | 8 | 9 | Oklahoma State | 8 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 7 | Oregon | 9 | 10 | 7 | 8 | 7 | North Carolina | 11 | 12 | 12 | 9 | 11 | Maryland | 11 | 9 | 11 | 9 | 12 | UCLA | 9 | 9 | 8 | 9 | 9 | Boise State | 11 | 9 | 8 | 9 | 10 | Drake | 11 | 11 | 11 | 10 | 11 | Rutgers | 7 | 7 | 8 | 10 | 7 | San Diego State | 9 | 10 | 9 | 10 | 9 | UConn | Out | 9 | 12 | 10 | 12 | Indiana | 10 | 12 | 10 | 12 | 11 |
* Torvick is the only computerized seeding in the bunch. The others all involve humans. I have no idea which is more accurate. These two teams seem marginally relevant. And I never need extra motivation to root against Florida. Florida Colorado
