Overall, between half and three-quarters of the country belong to what KFF CEO Drew Altman called the “muddled middle,
I've always said most people are morons. We just don't want to accept that. And having a degree does not preclude one from being a moron if they have zero intellectual curiosity and spend all of their time reading useless or false information and spend no time thinking, know little to nothing about science, politics, or history and are completely brainwashed by social media propaganda. I believe the majority of people would fall into that category.

I believe the majority of people would fall into that category. I wouildn't call them moroms. However, they are badly uniformed. Some of the blame goes to the media, who have bent over backwards to tell "both sides of the story", even when one side is the facts and the other side is made up. They seem terrified of being accused of being biased. Also, the media does a terrible job of discussing issues of substance. They will have endless coverage of the victims of the Hawaii fires, but vitually no discussion of how climate change contributes to the severity of all the "natuaral disasters" we are going through.

Badly uninformed = grossly ignorant. They are badly uninformed because they are intellectually lazy and too ignorant to know where to even look for the truth and real facts. To me, that qualifies as a moron. Some can still be nice, caring people but dumb as a rock.

OTOH, there are way too many people who are much more occupied with the Kardashians than with things that really affect their life. I remember playing poker with a kid who said, "I don't pay attention to politics. Both parties are exactly the same." I told him that there were huge policy differences between the parties and that those policies affect his life in big ways. I have no idea if I got through to him. Personally, I think "Both parties are the same" is just an excuse to not take the time to get informed. Fortunately, gun violence, abortion, and climate change seem to be encouraging young people to pay more attention and get more involved.

Yep, those are the morons.
