Gov DeathSentence Promises More DeathFlorida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, two weeks into the reboot of his ten-week-old presidential campaign, pledged to New Hampshire voters this week he will root out the “deep state” from the federal government, and “start slitting throats on Day One.” Governor DeSantis “appeared bent on demonstrating that no candidate talks tougher. He promised that, under his presidency, Mexican drug cartels would be ‘shot stone cold dead,’ and vowed that when it comes to federal bureaucrats, ‘we are going to start slitting throats on Day One.'” "We are going to start slitting throats on Day One?" WTF's with that? Unfortunately, his MAGA Morons are tuned into inflammatory rhetoric like that and may act on it.

Big Pharma rakes in $215 billion a year in America — yet pays almost no taxes
This article makes no sense. First it says
reported making $215 billion worth of sales in the US sales abroad were logically more modest — totaling $170 billion
That's a total of $385 billion.
Then it says:
Of their $100 billion combined profit
Combined sales is $385 billion. I guarantee their profit on that is close to 90%. $100 bil is a joke.
One thought on their small $10 bil US profit. Nearly all drugs ordered in the US are purchased from overseas pharmacies in India and Turkey. They may be saying your pharmacy or drug insurance plan is just a delivery vehicle for the drugs actually sold by foreign pharmacies so there is no profit in the US. The profit was made in India and Turkey where all the pharmas have their factories.

Then, they pay big licensing fees to their subsidiary in Ireland, which is a big tax-deductible expense for the US part of the company. So most of the profits are "earned" in Ireland. It's not just pharma. Big tech does it too. Biden wants to stop this practice. Guess which guys are blocking it.
