A dog gave birth to puppies near the road and was cited for littering. We Know All About Traffic JamsThree days into Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a huge 10-mile (15.5km) line of armoured vehicles was spotted by a satellite in the north of the country. The very same morning in Bucha, just outside Kyiv, 67-year-old Volodymyr Scherbynyn was standing outside his local supermarket when more than a hundred Russian military vehicles rolled into town. Both Volodymyr and the satellite were witnesses to a key part of President Vladimir Putin's plan for a quick and overwhelming victory. They were also witnesses to its failure. The western media called it a convoy. In reality, it was a traffic jam and a major tactical blunder. Forty-eight hours after that first satellite photograph, on 28 February 2022, the line of vehicles had grown to a colossal 35 miles (56 km) long. The vehicles were stalled for weeks. Then finally they retreated, and seemingly disappeared overnight. What happened? Why did such a massive force fail to reach Kyiv? If You Are Interest in the Story: How Russia's 35-mile armoured convoy ended in failure

Do they Still Have the Right to Discriminate Against Dolts?
Seattle has become the first US city to ban discrimination based on caste after a vote by the city council.
Councilwoman Kshama Sawant, who wrote the legislation, said the fight against caste bias "is deeply connected to the fight against all forms of oppression".
Advocates of the ban say that it is needed to prevent caste bias from becoming more prevalent in the US.
The caste system in India dates back over 3,000 years and divides Hindu society into rigid hierarchical groups.
The ordinance passed by Seattle on Tuesday follows similar bans on caste bias that have been introduced on the campuses of US universities in recent years.
"Caste discrimination doesn't only take place in other countries," said Ms Sawant, who is the only Indian American on the Seattle city council.
"It is faced by South Asian American and other immigrant working people in their workplaces, including in the tech sector, in Seattle and in cities around the country."
Ms Sawant, a socialist, has previously spoken of being raised in an upper-caste Hindu Brahmin household in India and witnessing such discrimination.
The measure has been opposed by some Hindu American groups, who argue a ban is not necessary as US law already prohibits such discrimination.
In an open letter, the Washington DC-based Hindu American Federation said that while the ordinance's goals were praiseworthy, it "unfairly singles out and targets an entire community on the basis of their national origin and ancestry for disparate treatment".
They added that Indian Americans made up less than 2% of Washington state's population, and argued there was little evidence of any widespread discrimination based on caste.
Caste discrimination has been banned in India since 1948, however, discrimination continues, especially against the Dalits, who were once called "untouchables".

On a Web Site I Frequent, There has Been a Debate on Whether People Should Repect the Religion of Others. Here's My View:
I believe everyone should have the right to practice their own religion whether it is Catholocism or Voo-Doo UNTIL they try to enforce their religion or its rules on others.
Whether it is fundamentalist Christians, Orthodox Jews building settlements, Feverent Muslims in ISIS, Militant Hindus murdering Muslims and Ghandi, or Catholics who want to enforce their beliefs about birth control, I have zero respect for those people.
In this country the debate is mostly about Ffundamentalists, who believe the US in not only a Chrisitan nation, but that the nation should be governed by the values of their particular version of Chistianity. I am fine with them practicing their religion. I am not fine with them foisting their beliefs on me.
Render unto Cesaer what is Casaer's and unto God what is God's.

They are Suspeding the Agreement, But Sticking to It?
Russia will stick to agreed limits on nuclear missiles and keep informing the United States about changes in its deployments, a senior defense official said on Wednesday, despite the suspension of its last remaining arms control treaty with Washington.
Both chambers of Russia’s parliament voted quickly in favour of suspending Moscow’s participation in the New START treaty, rubber-stamping a decision that President Vladimir Putin announced on Tuesday when he accused the West of trying to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia in Ukraine.
But a top defence ministry official, Major-General Yevgeny Ilyin, told the lower house, or Duma, that Russia would continue to observe agreed restrictions on nuclear delivery systems — meaning missiles and strategic bomber planes.
The RIA news agency quoted Ilyin as saying Moscow would also continue to provide Washington with notifications on nuclear deployments in order “to prevent false alarms, which is important for maintaining strategic stability”.

It Wasn't Exactly a Super Bowl Halftime Show
Today in Moscow, Russia conducted the next stage of its invasion propaganda campaign. This time, it involved roping a bunch of people into a stadium for bad music and a half-baked spectacle. According to Ukrainian Pravda, extras were paid 500 roubles to fill up the stands.
Hard to believe when they were provided with entertainment like this.
They Are Planning to Invade Germany, Next?
You can practically feel the excitement radiating from the people in the background. And here’s a very special part of the program—one that is certain to get a response in Ukraine and worldwide. Though maybe not the response Russia wants.
Anna Naumenko is a familiar character. She already appeared in May 2022 on Rosprop TV, she told terrible tales about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Azov in Mariupol, which she saw, without leaving her shelter.

Did Previous Guy Call Georgia More Than Once About the Election?
Kohrs, the Fulton County special grand jury foreperson, said the special grand jury heard tape recordings of phone conversations that have already been made public, such as Trump’s Jan. 2, 2021, call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in which the president asked Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to swing the election.
But there are recordings of other calls Trump made that the special grand jury heard and which have yet to be made public, Kohrs said.
“We heard a lot of recordings of President Trump on the phone,” she said, declining to give specifics. “It is amazing how many hours of footage you can find of that man on the phone. … Some of these that were privately recorded by people or recorded by a staffer.”
That's ConversationS Clearly He Had Georgia on His Mind.

Still Living in a Past Where Women Make Babies and Dinner?
The Southern Baptist Convention on Tuesday ousted its second-largest congregation — Saddleback Church, the renowned California megachurch founded by pastor and best-selling author Rick Warren — for having a woman pastor.
The vote by the convention’s Executive Committee culminates growing tension between the nation’s largest Protestant denomination — which officially opposes women as pastors — and a congregation whose story has been one of the biggest church-growth successes of modern times.
The committee cited Saddleback’s having “a female teaching pastor functioning in the office of pastor,” an allusion to Stacie Wood, wife of the current lead pastor of Saddleback, Andy Wood.
But the controversy began in 2021, when Warren ordained three women as pastors, prompting discussions within the denomination about possibly expelling the megachurch.

I Didn't Use Chat GPI to Write This Headline. It Probably Would Have Done a Better Job.
Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development is apologizing after students learned the school used ChatGPT to compose a campus email about this month’s mass shooting at Michigan State University.
Vanderbilt’s Feb. 16 email, signed by two administrators, urged faculty, students and staff to “come together as a community” to foster “a safe and inclusive environment for all.” It noted in small print at the bottom that the message was a “paraphrase from OpenAI’s Chat GPT AI language model.”
“There is a sick and twisted irony to making a computer write your message about community and togetherness because you can’t be bothered to reflect on it yourself,” Laith Kayat, a senior whose sister attends Michigan State, told the Vanderbilt Hustler. Three students were killed in the Feb. 13 Michigan State shooting and five were wounded. The shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
The AI-assisted email was sent by the Vanderbilt Peabody Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, per The Tennessean. A day earlier, Vanderbilt Provost G.L. Black issued a sincere statement of his own, which starkly contrasted the ChatGPT email’s antiseptic tone.
Nicole Joseph, a Peabody associate dean who co-signed the email, apologized and stepped aside from the equity, diversity and inclusion program as Vanderbilt investigates what led to the message, the Hustler reported. The student newspaper was the first to report on the email, which failed to list resources available to students struggling to deal with the campus mass shooting.

It's a Wales of a Tale: Wales Understands that Immigrants Get the Job Done
A Welsh health board has recruited 107 new nurses through its first recruitment event in India.
Swansea Bay University Health Board held the event in the southern city of Kochi to help fill a shortage of Band Five nurses in its Morriston Hospital.
The new recruits are a mixture of medical, surgical and theatre nurses, some with 15 years' experience.
They arrive during February and will start their new roles in April, after a four-week training programme.
Swansea Bay University Health Board said the shortage of Band Five nurses - who are effectively newly qualified - is UK-wide, due to people retiring, or leaving their roles to take up a new career.
The health board is providing the nurses with accommodation for up to three months, until they find their own rental properties with local landlords.
Meanwhile We Have Labor Shortages and Keep Immigrants Who Want to Work Out.

Monday Morning Seems So Bad
Afour-day work week may be here to stay, at least in the United Kingdom. A recent trial had 61 organizations and about 2,900 workers adopt a four-day workweek, and now, most are not going back to five days of work per week. In fact, about one in six employees who participated in the experiment said no amount of money would convince them to return to a five-day-a-week schedule.

Whether People Should Repect the Religion of Others. Here's My View:
Ditto. I agree 100%. Those that want to turn us into a theocracy by forcing religious legislation on us are not patriots by any measure. And you can start with SCOTUS.
