US Vaccine Data - We Have Now Administered 311 Million Shots
Half of eligible people fully vaccinated
CALIFORNIA - California Breaks the 40 Million Dose Barrier!
More than 1 dose for every person in California (39.6 million).

David Hasselhoff? They Couldn't Get Barbara Feldon or Bob Denver?
Public awareness campaigns launched by governments are usually anodyne affairs. Not in Germany, where officials have managed to spark a number of controversies during the pandemic in their push to keep the public safe.
From spending millions on videos deemed insensitive, commissioning an alleged Hamas supporter to promote the vaccine for the country's Arabic-speaking population to getting "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff to promote the jab while millions of people are still waiting desperately. The government is facing some heat for its absurd approach on the public awareness campaigns.

51 Stars? No Problem. (Or If We Added Puerto Rico, No Hay Problema.)
The battle to get Washington, D.C., admitted into the union as the 51st state has been waged for two centuries, but adding a 51st star to the United States flag would take less than 60 minutes.
So says Carter Beard, president of the venerable company Annin Flagmakers, a six-generation family firm that has sewn some of the most famous U.S. flags in history.
“We could do it in about an hour,” Beard told NBC News, when asked how long it would take to add a new star. “We call in a ‘running change’ and the redesign part of the process can be done quickly. It’s manufacturing the new flags that takes time.”

I Guess They Think He's the Terminator. Hey Previous Guy...You're No Arnold
A new Politico/Morning Consult poll asked survey respondents this straightforward question: “How likely do you think it is that former President Donald Trump will be reinstated as U.S. President this year, if at all?”
Among Republicans surveyed, 17% think it’s “very likely” that Trump will return to the White House this year, 12% think it’s “somewhat likely,” and 10% don’t know or have no opinion. Taken together, this shows that two-fifths of Republicans have not yet accepted that Joe Biden won the presidency.
-----------------
I Guess That His Supporters Still Had Their Heads on Their Pillows
Update: More people trickled in, but attendance was still pathetic. I saw estimates range from 400 to 1500, nowhere close to the 30k Lindell promised. Video shows people leaving soon after they arrived because it was very 🔥hot, and they can get their conspiracies at home. Apparently, Mike hired a private company with WWI-era planes to do a flyover, and they showed up several hours late. Money well spent.

Who Won the Week?
Washington, the 13th state to join the "70% Vaccinated Club"
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), for finally serving slippery Rep. Mo Brooks (CULT-AL) with a lawsuit alleging he was a co-conspirator in the Jan. 6 insurrection
Europe's nerves, now calmed as President Biden arrives to assure the G-7, NATO, and EU that "America is back"
Vermont's state government, including GOP Gov. Phil Scott, for passing a law establishing universal mail-in voting
Biden's first three confirmed judicial nominees: Julien Neals (NJ), Regina Rodriguez (CO), and first-ever Muslim American federal judge Zahid Quraishi (NJ)
The indigenous tribes, landowners, and environmentalists who fought for years to keep the Keystone XL pipeline from going online, as the project is permanently scrapped
ProPublica, for snagging a massive trove of tax records showing billionaires pay little to nothing in income tax compared to their massive wealth
The reverse-hackers who clawed back most of the ransomware paid to the crooks who shut down the Colonial Pipeline…and the agents who led a global online sting operation that nabbed 800 evildoers
The world vaccination effort, as the U.S. donates 500M Covid doses, and G-7 nations donate another 500M to help poorer nations get their citizens vaccinated

Let Them Eat Lead!
(2020) Former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chief of Staff Miles Taylor claimed in a podcast earlier this week that President Donald Trump told administration officials he wanted to "maim" and "shoot" migrants at the southern border.
On one occasion, he said, Trump asked for steel bollards "so sharp that I want them to pierce human flesh if they climb it."
"Why don't we just shoot them?" Taylor said the president asked, referencing migrants approaching the border in "caravans" in 2018.
"This was a man with no humanity whatsoever," Taylor said.
There's a long history of Americans lynching and committing pogroms against Mexicans. That's more or less how the Texas Rangers started out.

This Bond Has a Community Shaken and Stirred
It took a vast and viral showing of public outrage for a Michigan court to keep a man accused of shooting his 6-year-old neighbor over a bike in his lawn in jail. Ryan Le-Nguyen was initially allowed to post a $10,000 bail after being accused of shooting the child playing on the sidewalk in front of Le-Nguyen’s home through his window last Sunday in the Detroit suburb of Ypsilanti Township, county officials explained in social media posts. Eli Savit, the prosecuting attorney, said on Wednesday in his Facebook post, “we have charged that case with the highest possible available charges--assault with intent to murder.”

The Previous Guy Weighs in (at 200+ lbs) on Meeting with Putin
"As President, I had a great and very productive meeting in Helsinki, Finland, with President Putin of Russia, Despite the belated Fake News portrayal of the meeting, the United States won much, including the respect of President Putin and Russia."
"Because of the phony Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, made-up and paid for by the Democrats and Crooked Hillary Clinton, the United States was put at a disadvantage - a disadvantage that was nevertheless overcome by me."
"As to who do I trust, they asked, Russia or our 'Intelligence' from the Obama era, meaning people like Comey, McCabe, the two lovers, Brennan, Clapper, and numerous other sleezebags, or Russia, the answer, after all that has been found out and written, should be obvious. Our government has rarely had such lowlifes as these working for it."
"Good luck to Biden in dealing with President Putin - don't fall asleep during the meeting, and please give him my warmest regards!"

Nobody Puts Bibi in a Corner! Except for Naftali Bennett
Israel is set to swear in a new government on Sunday that will send Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into the opposition after a record 12 years in office and a political crisis that sparked four elections in two years.
Naftali Bennett, the head of a small ultranationalist party, will take over as prime minister. But if he wants to keep the job, he will have to maintain an unwieldy coalition of parties from the political right, left and center.

What's the Difference Between Nixon and the Previous Guy? Nixon Did Not Have DOJ Doing his Dirty Work and Congress Backing Him Up
The U.S. Congress will probe "rogue" actions by the Justice Department during former President Donald Trump's term, including its move to seize the communications records of Democratic lawmakers, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Sunday.
That review will run in parallel with an investigation by the department's own internal watchdog into its moves to subpoena phone records of Representatives Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell, as part of a probe into leaks of classified information.
The Justice Department under former attorneys general William Barr and Jeff Sessions was regularly accused of putting Trump's personal and political interests ahead of the law.

You Want to Endanger Patients? Case Dismissed!
A federal court in Texas on Saturday dismissed a lawsuit by 117 hospital employees who challenged their employer's vaccination requirement.
In the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas' written decision, Judge Lynn N. Hughes said lead plaintiff Jennifer Bridges, a nurse, and 116 other Houston Methodist Hospital employees who challenged the requirement, had no case.

A Sure Sign of the Looming Apocalypse
Maren Altman isn’t a huge fan of TikTok.
“I’m a really serious person,” she said. She rarely scrolls through her feed. She can’t stand most of it. “I’m not into the trends or the jokes.”
She’s amassed more than a million followers anyway.
Then again, hers isn’t your typical TikTok page. No cute dogs here. No dancing.
Instead, the 22-year old posts astrology videos of all stripes, including ones focused on politics and celebrities (she predicted a major relationship shift for Kanye West and Kim Kardashian). In the astrology community, she’s reached one-name status, like Sting or Bono.
Her most intriguing videos apply astrology to a particularly daunting realm: cryptocurrency. Anything with a verifiable birthday or creation date has a birth chart that can be read and, according to astrologers, gleaned for predictive information. That means there’s astrology for relationships, pets, political movements and, yes, bitcoin. Skeptics are not on board, of course, and cynics might see it as a perfect match: Two things that feel like foreign languages to most people. Finding an edge in the crypto market is already a fuzzy art. Is attempting to use celestial bodies so far off?

Is the Next Scopes Monkey Trial Looming?
The backlash is sparking a backlash of its own.
On Saturday, thousands of educators and others gathered virtually and in person at historic locations in more than 20 cities to make clear that they would resist efforts in at least 15 Republican-led states to restrict what teachers can say in class about racism, sexism and oppression in America.
Organized by local educators across the country in association with several social justice organizations, the National Day of Action is meant to raise public awareness about the legislation and to send a message that they will not lie to students about the country’s racist past and present.
Several thousand teachers have signed a pledge that says: “We, the undersigned educators, refuse to lie to young people about U.S. history and current events — regardless of the law.”

The Three Monkeys
Former attorney generals Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr and former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein have all denied knowledge of secret subpoenas seizing the phone records of Democratic lawmakers as part of a leaks probe.
Last week it was revealed that during Donald Trump's presidency the Justice Department used subpoenas to obtain information from Apple about at least two Democrat members of the House Intelligence Committee.
The orders targeted not just the lawmakers but their office staff and families, including one minor.
