Nevada has a very stark difference in voter party registration by age. NevadaRegbyAge.pdf (164.26 KB) The actual categories were 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65+. You might think as time passed such a strong slope would lead to Republicans decaying over time. Actually voter registration differences have been rather steady in Nevada since the late 2000s. Republicans seem to be compensating for the age slope by getting more support from voters over 65. Nevada65Trends.pdf (171.01 KB) But where are these over 65 voters coming from? Either voters are getting redder as they age (I guess that shifts that previous debate to voters vote by age and not by generation?) or Nevada must be getting an influx of older conservative voters. My guess is the latter. Any Nevada readers here? There is the question if this is sustainable.

I went to work as a voting rights attorney for Hilary Clinton in Nevada in 2016 and her campaign was so disorganized a number of us went to work for Cortez Masto.
on Election Day, I was assigned to be a poll watcher at a traditional Republican "stronghold" and the guy wearing all red and running the precinct asked me who I thought would win the Presidential election in Nevada.
Me: "Well, as you can see with all my blue clothes, I hope Clinton. But I think it's a toss-up."
Him: "Nope. Clinton will win and Cortez Masto will win."
Me: "How can you be so sure?"
Him: "Because all 3 times that moron made a trip here, he pronounced it 'NuhVAUGHduh.' Like we were a bunch of Mexicans. Cortez Masto is a Mexican who knows to call it 'Nehvaada.' She's a true daughter of this state and we Republicans know we need our family to back us up. First the mafia, then the damn unions and ni**gers and now this rich sh*t from New York who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, just like all those other big city folks do."
I had already told him I grew up in El Monte, which had a population of 20,000, that I used the rooster crowing next door as an alarm clock and that the kid living the next door down taught me to shoot with his father's guns when I was 9 (family was from Texas).
All of which was true.
I think more Republicans in Neh-vaa-duh are voting Democrat because they're convinced that Trump is a moron. And the Man of the Power that imposes itself on the locals.
