Well, as so many Republicans have said, they're just doing what the Constitution and the law say they can do, so there's nothing wrong with it.

But this may make reform more likely in the long-term. The "unilateral disarmament" approach was a questionable way of achieving this. If Republicans think "Gerrymandering can only help us and not hurt us" they become all the more resistant to reform.

Gerrymandering has caused the Republican Party to filter out anyone with a brain and/or a heart. What remains are a bunch of dim-witted, aggressive, greedy, sycophantic liars.
If the Democrats implement a similar gerrymandering program, will we see the party dominated by a bunch of super-intelligent, reasonable, honest, and empathetic statesmen?

Unilateral disarmament is how we never seem to be getting out of the minoritarian regime hole Republicans have dug us in, so I say more power to Democrats in IL. We're not going to put a stop to this by just letting the other side play the game and rack up the points.
